too faced watermelon slice palette (review)

Everyone has preferences when it comes to beauty products. Some love matte foundations and others love dewy finishes. Some obsess over brows while others crave a bold statement lip colour. When it comes to my own makeup preferences...Too Faced is at the top of the list. There is just something about the brand that makes me smile. From whimsical themes to scented products and over-the-top shimmery eyeshadow shades, there is a lot to love. One recent obsession? The Too Faced Watermelon Slice Palette. This breakaway set includes a selection of both face products and eyeshadows. 

So....just what is the Watermelon Slice Palette? This Too Faced product is a breakaway set (the center is magnetic and the watermelon shape can be broken apart for easy storage) with three face products and eight eyeshadow shades. As you can see from the pictures, this is perfectly themed. And totally on brand! There is a lot to love about the packaging in general. However, one really excellent detail is the fact that the face palette side is slightly deeper in colour. That makes it easy to identify which side of the palette you want at any given moment. I also love the fact that this set comes with a glam guide that includes lots of different suggestions for makeup looks. That makes it ultra beginner friendly. 

First thing is first: the eyeshadow shades. There are eight in total and each one has a themed name. (Like One in a Melon and Melon Dollar Baby....so cute!) It also includes a combination of matte and shimmer shades. The matte shades are ideal for the crease or to blend out different shadows. Then there are the gorgeous shimmers. There is a champagne shade, a melon shade, and even a green. There is just so much to love here! A combination of matte and shimmer. Colourful shades and neutral shades. Light shades and dark shades. The Watermelon Slice Palette really has it all. It makes it easy to create looks that are suitable for casual daytime wear, are ultra colourful, or are smokey and dramatic. There is so much versatility. 

The other side of the Watermelon Slice Palette has a caramelized bronzer, blush shade, and a highlight. The textures are so rich and creamy and the pigmentation level is intense. I can't even decide which product I love most. They all work well together or individually. The face side of the palette is something that I have been reaching for regularly...even on days when I don't use the eyeshadow shades. It is a fabulous face palette and one that will certainly continue to be used often in my makeup looks.

Too Faced rarely lets me down. Especially when it comes to palettes. The Watermelon Slice palette is cute, creative, and brightens up my makeup room. I love the theme, the packaging, and of course, the products inside. The quality is top notch! It has been a lot of fun incorporating these spring and summer shades into my everyday makeup looks.
