#FOTD: colourful goth makeup look

There is something exciting about blending gothic inspired makeup looks with unexpected pops of colour. The juxtaposition makes me positively giddy. So it only made sense to put the Jeffree Star Cosmetics Cremated Eyeshadow Palette to use. The palette was originally released in the summer (at that time, I created a post about it and used dupe products to create a gothic and grey makeup look). Since then, a lot of not-so-impressive information has been released about Jeffree Star. Needless to say, my feelings about the man behind the brand are complicated. But I was gifted the Cremated Eyeshadow Palette from Jeffree Star Cosmetics for Christmas and it was really exciting. I had always heard rave reviews about the quality of the eyeshadows. And as I mentioned in my original gothic and grey makeup post....grey shadows were scarce in my makeup collection. Not anymore! The palette has a wide array of grey, white, and black shades. Keep reading to take a look at my latest #FOTD. It is a colourful gothic makeup look with a mix of high-end and drugstore products.

Mermaid themed items are always a good idea. Countless brands have released mermaid inspired items over the years. From mermaid eyeshadow palettes to mermaid tail brushes...everything is fair game. Even candles, it seems! Not too long ago, I was gifted a Mermaid Candle from the Charmed Aroma Under the Sea Ring Collection. This mermaid inspired candle is oh-so-themed and contains an unforgettable accessory inside. Ready for another review and reveal? Here goes....

be a unicorn in a field of horses.

One of my closest friends often refers to me as her unicorn. At first, I didn't know quite what to make of this. What did it mean? Was it a good thing? A bad thing? Turns was her way of celebrating my unique and colourful personality. Though I am very shy by nature and not exactly a people person, my interests add colour to who I am. (I love obscure holiday movies, 70s pop music, and Murder She Wrote.) I like what I like and I refuse to be apologetic about those things! I am young at heart, love colour and glitter, and believe in true love and happy endings. It has been about eleven months since I last spent time with that friend in person. Today...I am missing her more than usual. So, I decided to do a little inspiration post. The theme is of course, unicorns. Take a peek at some unicorn inspired makeup, nails, hair, accessories and more.

urban decay stoned vibes eyeshadow palette (review + video)

Few things make me happier than themed makeup products. There is something so fun and whimsical about them! In the past, there have been more than a handful of themed items in my collection. Too Faced is well-known for their themes (you can check out almost all of my Too Faced blog posts for proof of that) but other brands like to dip their toes in the water as well. Take the latest release from Urban Decay as an example. The Stoned Vibes eyeshadow palette is all about crystals, stones, and good vibes. Ready to take a look inside? See how it performs? Here is a full review, makeup look, and live swatches.

review: juicy couture perfume set

Scents are incredibly powerful. The right perfume can instantly transport you back to another time and place. Make you feel polished and put together. Express deeply rooted emotions. Each spritz of perfume has the ability to unlock a truly unique and unforgettable moment. Ahh...bliss. Needless to say, I am a massive fan of fragrances. (Don't believe it? Be sure to check out my Perfume Collection YouTube video from a few years back.) It is an essential part of my day to day life. Over the holidays, my husband gifted me a Juicy Couture perfume set with three different mini bottles. I have been putting them to good use recently and wanted to share some of my thoughts. Keep reading to find out more about this set and the fragrances inside.

new in: fashionable footwear (glitter edition)

What is it about glitter? It makes everything seem a little bit better. The way it sparkles and shines in the light immediately makes the world seem happier and full of hope. Over the years, glitter has taken over most parts of my life. From makeup to nail polish to is absolutely everywhere. And I wouldn't have it any other way! More recently, this glitter obsession has carried over to my footwear as well. Over the holiday season, I was gifted two very sparkly pairs of shoes. One was a stylish pair of sneakers and the other was an over the top pair of boots. Winter, spring, summer, and fall, one thing is certain: I will be glittery from head to toe. Ready to take a peek at these new items? Here goes...

Or a solid jumping off point? Here are a few of my current favourites for mindfulness.

love is our true destiny.

Happy Valentine's Day! What an exciting time. As you may know if you have been reading my blog for a significant amount of time...holidays are my favourite. Quite frankly, I am not overly picky about what holiday it is. I love them all. A lot. There is just something so exciting about holidays. The excitement in the air, the anticipation, and the way they bring people together. Though this year will definitely be different (depending on where you live, there may not be date nights or girls nights or time spent with family) it can still be full of wonder and appreciation.

#FOTD: wrapped in red makeup look

Somehow, Valentine's Day is right around the corner. Though it's hard to believe...we are already two weeks into February. The holiday will certainly look different for a lot of people this year. No heading to the store to purchase overpriced cards and candy, no dinner reservations, and no movie theatre tickets to put to good use. Though it will be far more lowkey than usual, there is still a lot of fun to be had. Whether you are celebrating solo or with someone special, a little makeup can go a long way. Makeup has long been a passion of mine. These days? It is my therapy. Being stuck inside so often has a way of making you feel a little...blah. Even though I am happy to work from home and generally enjoy staying indoors, makeup gives me that little burst of creativity. That little spark of joy. More recently, I created a Valentine's Day inspired makeup look to put me in the holiday spirit. It involved lots and lots of red. Take a look...

review + reveal: charmed aroma unicorn bath bomb

Another day, another Charmed Aroma post. The holiday season certainly left me feeling pampered. Especially because so many of my friends and loved ones gave me Charmed Aroma items! There is a good reason for this: the products make me very happy indeed. New accessories are always thrilling...especially when the surprise element is thrown in there. Though in the past, I have reviewed candle after candle, this experience was somewhat different. Wondering why? It was a bath bomb. Not just any bath bomb, either. This was a sparkly pink and purple unicorn shaped bath bomb. Want to find out more? See what was inside? Keep reading this review and reveal for all of the details.

love it or leave it? rita ora

Style is subjective. Everyone has their own idea of what does (or does not) make for an aesthetically pleasing outfit. The right combination of pieces has the ability to make you feel inspired and alive....while another combination can leave you wanting more. Perhaps that is what makes fashion so thrilling. You never quite know what you will see. Or how an outfit will make you feel. On that note, it is time for another love it or leave it fashion post here on the creation of beauty is art. Since many areas in the world are locked down to varying degrees, red carpet or event-worthy looks are scarce. Not to worry! Recently, I stumbled upon some pictures of Rita Ora at a taping of The Masked Singer UK. She looked oh-so-glam. Ready to find out if this outfit is a love or a leave? Here goes...

beginner series: five tips to make false eyelash application easier

Bigger is better…especially when it comes to lashes. Stars like Kim Kardashian and Gigi Hadid have made look-at-me lashes a must-have both on and off the red carpet. With stunning celebs sporting perfectly curled lashes everywhere they go (lashes with tons of thickness and length), it only stands to reason that everyone else wants to follow suit. At least every now and again! Some people are blessed with full lashes of their very own. The rest of us need a little extra help to make it happen. That’s why false eyelashes have become so popular. You can find them at your local drugstore, beauty supply store, or makeup counter. If lash application seems a little too complicated – or you haven’t had much luck in the past – don’t worry. These five tips will make it quick and easy to apply false eyelashes.

inspired by: sadboy2005 (emo fashion + music)

My Chemical Romance. Panic! at the Disco. Fall Out Boy. Paramore. The Academy Is... All Time Low. Boys Like Girls. My iPod was (and still is) overloaded with emo and pop-punk music. Way back when, my style was somewhat different than it is now. Each day, I would style my heavy bangs, throw on a band t-shirt, put on a pair of colourful skinny jeans, and wear my worn-out black and white checkered Vans. Black eyeshadow, eyeliner, and a nude lip were my makeup must haves. Though a lot has changed since then (my beauty routine has certainly branched out....though I will always be a band t-shirt kind of girl), recently I've been reminded of how much emo music and style influenced me. Trisha Paytas recently started an emo band called sadboy2005. The music fully embraces that old-school emo vibe. One that defined many years of my life.

3 looks 3 palettes feat. too faced enchanted wonderland collection

Something making me happy at the moment? The Too Faced Enchanted Wonderland Collection. (In case you missed my review sure to check it out here.) This holiday set included three mini palettes and a mini mascara. Even though lockdown is still fully underway where I live, makeup is still an important part of my routine. It allows me to express myself creatively and maintain some sense of normality. With that in mind, I've been creating lots of different looks with each of the holiday palettes. Want to see how some of them turned out? Here are three makeup looks using the three mini palettes included in the Enchanted Wonderland Collection from Too Faced.

have fun (and stay active) with tumblemat

The world has certainly changed. Gone are the days of long sweat sessions at the gym and group workout classes. That doesn't mean you need to give up on your fitness goals! It just means that it is time to make some much-needed adjustments. Maybe that includes a brisk walk around the neighbourhood or a fitness DVD. For those that are looking for a little adventure (or are ready to break out of that at-home workout rut) the solution is simple: an air tumble track. An air track can be used for many different types of physical exercise, including gymnastics, tumbling, and martial arts. It can even be incorporated into your at-home routine. This piece of equipment is versatile and easy to use. Plus, it provides the perfect combination of stability and a softness. That means you have all the support you need to flip, twist, and turn...but will always have a soft place to land. Ready to find out more? tumblemat offers a number of different air tumble tracks.
