review: too faced tutti fruitti (sparkling pineapple palette)

Ahh...Too Faced. It is always a surprise to me when YouTube beauty gurus overlook (or downright trash) this brand. There is so much to love! Cute packaging. Fun themes. Impressive quality. Too Faced is without a doubt my favourite high-end makeup brand. The products always make me smile and also make it possible to pull together a wide array of fabulous looks. Speaking of Too Faced! Not too long ago, I was able to do a bit of discount shopping. (Memories. Now we are back in lockdown once again and those types of experiences are a thing of the past.) During that discount shopping trip, there were a couple of Too Faced items that caught my eye. One was the Too Faced Tutti Fruitti Sparkling Pineapple Eye Shadow Palette.

My favourite eyeshadow palette of the moment? Too Faced: The Return of Sexy Palette.

I was given this set for Christmas, and have been using it constantly since then. This eyeshadow palette comes with three eyeshadow sets (15 eyeshadow shades in total), step-by-step instructions to create the perfect smokey eye, as well as Too Faced Shadow Insurance Eyelid Primer and a Too Faced eyeliner.

I am seriously obsessed with this makeup palette. Why? Here are my thoughts on Too Faced: The Return of Sexy Palette.

Too Faced Shadow Insurance:

I didn't think anything would beat the Urban Decay eyeshadow primer. To my surprise, I love the Too Faced eyeshadow primer even more! This has quickly become my favourite. Using a small amount of the product keeps my makeup lasting - without budging - for the entire day. The texture of the product is silky and smooth. The perfect eyeshadow primer!

Too Faced Perfect Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner:

If you are looking for a jet black eyeliner that is going to stay put, then you will love the Too Faced eyeliner. I was so impressed by just how black the colour was. I also really loved how rich and creamy the texture of the product was. This liner doesn't budge at all once it's on, so be careful when applying it! There is also a smudger at the opposite end of the liner, which was super handy for creating that smokey eye look. The only drawback to this eyeliner is that you have to sharpen it. I really prefer liners that twist up instead. Overall though, this is a fantastic eyeliner to create a smokey makeup look.

Too Faced Eyeshadows:

As you can see from the swatches above, this palette is all about shimmer! If you're not a fan of shimmer, give this a miss. If you love shimmer and smokey eyes, then this is the perfect eyeshadow palette. I love that the shadows are separated into sections - gold shades, purple shades, and warm greys. Each set is defined as either: The Ingénue, The Icon, and The Bombshell.

Each of the shadows is quite pigmented, shimmery and really pretty. I am a big fan of the champagne coloured shadow in The Bombshell set, as well as all of the golden shades in The Ingénue set. 

There is fallout with these shadows if you don't use a primer, so definitely make the most of the Shadow Insurance primer that comes with it.

Overall, I am a big fan of this set. The eyeshadow colours look so beautiful, and the eyeliner and eyeshadow primer are fantastic. This palette really is the return of sexy!

For the most part, my makeup purchases happen at the drugstore. My all-time favourite mascara is from Cover Girl, I normally use foundations from Rimmel, and my most-used concealer is from Hard Candy. Despite this, there are an awful lot of high-end products in my makeup collection....and plenty of them are from Too Faced. It is my brand of choice. When I was young...my Christmas list always felt so important. It wasn't necessarily the items on the list that were important, but the sense of hope, excitement, and holiday magic associated with them. Receiving exactly what I had asked for, what I had wished for, always felt like a blissful dream come true. It made me feel special and seen. It always seems impossible... and yet their latest release has managed to surpass last year's stellar Christmas Dreams collection. Shocking! testing out: too faced peach products (powder + lipstick)

I can't quite remember when Too Faced came on my radar. Yet over the years, I have posted about this high end brand dozens upon dozens of times. (The earliest being way back in 2013, where I shared my thoughts on The Return of Sexy eyeshadow palette. You can check out that post here if you're curious.) I am most definitely a fan. There is a lot to like about the brand. Personally, I love the fact that so much attention is put into the overall beauty experience. The products tell a story and they are full of charm and whimsy. With Too Faced, there is always a fun theme, ultra cute packaging, and exciting colours to choose from. They certainly stand out from the other high end brands at Sephora. A little while ago, I was able to add a couple of decently sized Too Faced samples from their line of peach products. This is a line of products I have wanted to try for ages but never quite got around to. So this seemed like the perfect opportunity to find out whether it would be worth it to look into the line a little further. Ready to find out more? One thing that Too Faced does right? Holiday releases. Year after year, they raise the bar on adorable themes and wearable colours. At this point....it just doesn't feel like the Christmas season without this high-end brand. 2020 has been an interesting year, to say the least, but one thing remains constant: Too Faced rules the holiday makeup scene. Something making me happy at the moment? The Too Faced Enchanted Wonderland Collection. (In case you missed my review post...be sure to check it out here.) This holiday set included three mini palettes and a mini mascara. Even though lockdown is still fully underway where I live, makeup is still an important part of my routine. It allows me to express myself creatively and maintain some sense of normality. With that in mind, I've been creating lots of different looks with each of the holiday palettes. revisited review: too faced let it snow globe set

For many years, the Too Faced holiday releases have been highlights for me. I love makeup in general, but especially love when that makeup has a festive theme. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like there will be a Too Faced holiday set in my near future. This year, the theme was okay-ish but the prices are high and the products don't look overly thrilling to me. (An example? The You're a Gem Eye Makeup Set. It just doesn't wow or stand out at all.) Since it will not be a Merry Too Faced Christmas for me this year, it made sense to look back and do a revisited review of the Let It Snow Globes Set that was released in 2023.

Makeup is always exciting. Discounted makeup? Even better. It was several months ago now...but a while back, a very brief visit to Winners took place. (This is essentially a discount store, similar to something like Marshalls or TJ Maxx.) During that time, there was some holiday shopping for loved ones...and a little for myself. It wasn't my fault! I stumbled upon a Too Faced palette for a mere $20. And well, Too Faced is my favourite high-end makeup brand. The Pretty Rich palette caught my eye because of the price, the brand, and the lovely pink packaging. It wasn't a release that I remembered seeing at Sephora, so I must've missed it at the time. When it comes to holiday makeup, Too Faced is the absolute best. Few brands even come close to competing with the glitz, glitter, and festive feels. Last year, I fell head over heels for their Christmas Dreams holiday set. This year? I've been testing and trying their latest seasonal items. First up in this little review series is the Gingerbread Bronzed & Kissed. This bronzer and lipstick set includes a makeup bag, bronzer, and lipstick...all themed around gingerbread. Makeup and gingerbread? Sign me up. Gingerbread is one of my all-time favourite things about the holiday season. So anything gingerbread themed and scented is totally up my alley. review: too faced joy to the girls palette

Ahh, it's that time of year again. Yes, the snow is falling outside...and the shops are full of holiday makeup palettes! If you're a makeup fanatic like I am, then there truly is nothing better than the holiday season. This is the perfect time to get some seriously amazing deals on some gorgeous limited edition sets. Plus, you can find some fabulous gifts for some of your fellow makeup lovers!

Each year, I like to splurge and buy one holiday makeup set. This year, I picked up the Too Faced Eyeshadow Palette: Joy To The Girls. I don't have a ton of stuff from Too Faced in my makeup collection, but what I have, I absolutely love. When I came across this eyeshadow palette in Sephora, I instantly fell in love with it. The colours were totally up my alley! Even better? The packaging was super cute and festive.

Ready to take a closer look? Here is the inside of the palette. It comes with fifteen eyeshadow shades, one full-sized mascara, and three makeup tutorials along the side.

 

As you can see from the picture above, there is a real range of eyeshadow shades. Most of them have some shimmer to them, but there are a few matte shades as well that are just perfect for blending. Since there are so many eyeshadow shades in this palette, I thought that I would do a little review....row by row! 

The top row features Cookie Dough, Cheers! and Prancer. (Don't you just love the Christmas themed names for the shadows? It is one of my favourite things about it!) Cookie Dough is a beautiful matte brown shade. It's a nice mid-tone that is ideal for blending out a smokey eyeshadow look. Cheers! on the other hand, is a shimmery champagne kind of colour that looks beautiful all over the lid or applied on the inner corner. Prancer is actually one of the reasons I picked up this palette - it is an ultra glittery gold shade. Stunning!

The second row has Sugar Plum, a shimmery deep purple shade that is perfect as a crease colour, Mulberry, a purplish brown colour - and one of my all-time favourites, and Snow Angel, a basic white shadow. Truthfully, there is nothing overwhelmingly special about Snow Angel...but there are a lot of other wonderful shades that more than make up for it! 

The third row starts with Powdered Sugar, which is a fairly blah cream shade. Next to it is Too-Too, which is a pretty sparkly pink, and after that is one of my favourites from this palette - Yule Log. This eyeshadow colour is a dark brown with a hint of glitter. It definitely makes an impact! I love how dramatic this shade is....just perfect for a sexy, smokey eye look. 

The fourth row features Chestnut, a medium brown shade, Twinkle, a phenomenal greenish gold with tons of sparkle (love, love, love this colour!) and Joy, an icy blue to give you that perfect Christmasy makeup look! 

And lastly, the fifth row of this Too Faced palette has Spike The Punch, Chimney, and Coal. Now, I wasn't overly impressed with Spike The Punch, to be quite honest. It was far too similar to Too-Too...except that it didn't have nearly as much of an impact. That one was a letdown. However, Chimney is a great medium grey colour and Coal is a great simple black shade.

This palette also came with the Too Faced Lashgasm Mascara. (Pictured below) I was excited to try this one out, since I have never tried a Too Faced mascara before! So, what was the verdict? Well, I am on the fence about it. I absolutely love the mascara itself. It stays put, doesn't transfer, and gives my lashes an insane amount of length. (So much length, I can't even get over it!) 

Unfortunately, the packaging itself is a total miss. I'm not all that fond of the wand itself. The bristles are quite short and small. The biggest issue though, is with the stopper. I don't know if it was just this mascara or if they're all like this, but the stopper didn't do a very good job. The result was an absolute ton of mascara getting onto the wand. Since no girl wants a gob of mascara loaded onto the wand, I have to be very careful to wipe it off the side before I use it. Such a shame!

Overall, I am a major fan of this holiday palette. It's not perfect, but it's pretty darn close! I am addicted to so many of these gorgeous eyeshadow shades. It is no wonder I keep reaching for it day after day!

Nothing wows me more than an eyeshadow palette with lots of warm and wearable colours. Or Too Faced Cosmetics. It is no secret that I have a total obsession with this brand. I've written about Too Faced over and over again here on the creation of beauty is art. Their products are always nicely themed and add a little extra light to my makeup routine. Sometimes, items from Too Faced are purchased from Sephora, sometimes loved ones gift me things from the brand, and other times, Too Faced products are found at Winners. The latter is always a thrill. Not only do I love makeup, but I love makeup with a more affordable price. A few months back, the Light My Fire On-The-Fly Eyeshadow Palette caught my eye.
