Lately, it seems that my to-do list is overloaded. There are always so many tasks to check off. I suppose that is the way of it. There are busier times and slower times...and this is a busier time. It seems that the next several months will be somewhat full, but in the wise words of Dory from Finding Nemo, just keep swimming! With so much to tackle each day, it is essential to have a few quick and easy makeup looks ready. Yes, I'm talking about a five minute face. Lately, I've been using the Morphe M2 Ready in 5 Eyeshadow Palette in From Hawaii With Love to achieve a dramatic look in mere minutes.

Happy Valentine's Day! Another holiday has arrived. There is something so special about each and every one. I love holiday traditions, the decorations, and the time spent with important people. Valentine's Day in particular is all about love. Whether you are focusing on self love today, love for a partner, friend, or family member...do your best to celebrate in whatever way you choose. As for me? There will be loved ones, chocolate, cards, and of course, the movie Valentine's Day. (It is one of my favourites and is a must-watch each year.) Though ultra glamorous Valentine's Day looks are a lot of fun for a night out, if you plan on spending the night in or just want something quick and easy, a five minute face is ideal. Who said holiday inspired makeup needs to take a lot of time to achieve? In honour of Valentine's Day, here is a simple and wearable makeup look.

There is always so much to do. So much to check off of that never-ending to do list. While it may be nice to spend an hour and a half leisurely applying each and every beauty product...sometimes the clock is ticking. Maybe you need to run out to handle some errands or a last-minute Zoom call was scheduled. Perhaps you overslept and only have a few minutes before you need to head to the office. Whatever the reason may be, it is always possible to pull together a super quick and easy five minute face. Here are some tips and tricks to ensure that the process of getting ready is as enjoyable and seamless as possible.

There is nothing better than the luxury of time. Those moments when your schedule is clear and you have a significant portion of the day to do whatever you want. Sometimes, I spend moments like that writing or writing and other times, I spend moments like that creating a fabulous makeup look. Unfortunately, not all days allow for free time. In fact, most of them have been pretty full lately. So as much as I love spending as long as I want playing with my favourite beauty products...a quick five minute face is sometimes all that there is time for. Recently, I needed to pull together a makeup look that was quick, easy, and still a little glam. So I used some tried and true products and a small neutral palette that I hadn't reached for in a while. Ready to take a closer look at the items used? And see the results of that five minute face? Here is a super simple makeup look that included both drugstore and high end products.

Love her or hate her, Miley Cyrus has got everyone talking. Her raunchy new look and sound is grabbing headlines all over the world. Whether that's a good thing or not still remains to be seen. But with a #1 single and a hotly anticipated new album, I'd imagine she's not complaining.

I'll admit - I've been a Miley fan since she was on Hannah Montana. Which is why when I saw the music video to Wrecking Ball for the first time, I thought more about the song than the fact that she was, well, naked on a wrecking ball. Another thing that struck me about the video? Her makeup. It was so simple, yet so powerful and striking. I knew the moment that I saw it that I wanted to re-create it. While subtle eyes and a bold lip isn't my go-to look, I couldn't resist. Not only is this makeup bold and striking....but it's super quick and easy!

So, before I go through the steps to creating this five minute makeup, here is my re-created Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball look:

Benefit They're Real! Mascara.

Creating this look really is simple....honest! From start to finish it took me about five minutes. Here is how I did it:

I started by going through my normal foundation routine (moisturize, prime, apply foundation, apply concealer, and powder the face). Once that was done, I focused on the eyes. I used a matte eyeshadow just slightly darker than my natural skin colour all over the lid. Then I took a light shimmery shadow and applied that lightly on the brow bone and on the inner corner of my eyes.

Next, came the mascara. Since this was such a natural eye look, it really was all about the lashes. I applied two thick coats of mascara to get the length and thickness this look needs. On the cheeks, I dusted a very natural-looking peachy coloured blush just on the apples.

The real drama of this look comes from the lips! I went for a super bright and bold red lipstick shade. I used a red lip liner around my lips for a little more precision and then simply applied the red lipstick directly onto my lips.

And that was it! Creating this Miley Cyrus makeup look was really easy but it had just the right hint of drama. I definitely encourage you to give it a try!
