wet n wild cosmic collision eyeshadow palette (review)

Wet n Wild is a drugstore brand that stands out. There have been some misses over the years (like their workout inspired line of products) but there have also been a lot of incredible products. Their eyeshadow sets are especially impressive. That includes trios, quads, and palettes of all sizes! Without a doubt, Wet n Wild has the best eyeshadow formula at the drugstore. The pigmentation level is fantastic, the texture is buttery soft, and the shadows are easy to blend. Just take the Cosmic Collision release as an example. It offers a wide variety of colours and finishes...and it is ultra affordable. 

The packaging can be described in one word: basic. It serves its purpose and that is it. That being said, what is inside more than makes up for the unimpressive exterior. On each end, there is a matte transition shade (which can be used through the crease or individually). Both colours are gorgeous and I especially enjoy that lighter transition colour. It is a really unique eyeshadow shade! They are richly pigmented and blend easily. The fact that those particular colours come in larger pans is really smart, because they will theoretically be the ones that are used most often. 

Then there are eight different eyeshadow shades in the center. Two are matte and the rest are shimmer. As you can see from the swatches above...there is not only a good mixture of matte and shimmer, but there is also a nice combination of light, medium, and dark colours. The black is really pigmented and easily adds depth to any makeup look. That deep green is another way to create something smokey but still plays with colour. Now for the shimmers! I absolutely love these. There is such a nice variety to choose from. That includes a fabulous bright gold, warm copper, turquoise, golden-white, and deep purple. But the absolute best shade in the Cosmic Collision eyeshadow palette? That light shimmery purple. The texture is incredibly buttery, the finish is super shimmery, and the shade itself perfectly ties into the whole cosmic theme.
