revolution forever dynamic tranquil eyeshadow palette (review)

On my recent list of loves? The Revolution Forever Dynamic Tranquil Eyeshadow Palette. It is a fairly small palette in terms of the actual size but it includes eight different eyeshadow shades...many of which pack an awful lot of punch. This is actually the second Forever Dynamic eyeshadow palette from Revolution that I have tried lately. Not too long ago, the Ambient palette made its way into my makeup collection and it was loaded with pink and purple shades. Meanwhile, the Tranquil palette has a combination of blues and greens to choose from. Ready to take a look inside? See how these drugstore eyeshadows perform? Here is everything you need to know about the Revolution Forever Dynamic Tranquil Eyeshadow Palette.

Just like the Revolution Forever Dynamic Ambient Eyeshadow Palette, this particular palette comes in a small tin with a sturdy clasp and there are eight shadows inside. I love the compact size and the fact that this is really stable for travel or on-the-go purposes. On the inside, there is a clear sheet with the shadow names printed on top. While I appreciate that these shadows are given names (that does not always happen with drugstore eyeshadows)...the clear sheet always gets in the way and normally winds up in the trash bin. Which makes it kind of useless, at least for me! Many of the shadow names really lend well to this calm sea-inspired palette. For instance, Breezy, Tranquil, and Riviera.

As for the eyeshadow shades themselves, there is a really nice variety of finishes. There are five matte shades and three shimmer shades. However, I was really missing the glitter shade that was included in the previous eyeshadow palette that I tried. It was such a nice addition and the formula was fabulous. That super quick and easy to apply glitter was certainly missed in the Ambient palette. That being said, there are a lot of really beautiful shades to choose from. Here are some swatches to highlight how these drugstore eyeshadow shades actually perform.

The first shades on the top and bottom row are shimmers and they are fabulous. So creamy and pigmented! They really stand out for all the right reasons. Plus, it is wonderful to have a bold silver eyeshadow. I am certain that it will get an awful lot of use...especially once the holiday season rolls around later this year. The deeper blue is nice but requires a little building of colour in order to get a really rich dark colour. The matte brown, Bare, is the perfect crease shade, because it is warm but not too over the top. Then there is another winner, the seafoam green shade. It is so shimmery and pretty! Clearly, the shimmers stand out in this palette. The bright blue, Tranquil, is another winner. It is shockingly pigmented and really makes a statement. As for the last two shades on the ends? They are only okay. The cream shadow is nice for blending out edges and softening a look but the soft grey doesn't really make much of an impact on the eyes.

It has been an awful lot of fun to test out different Revolution products over the last couple of years. The Forever Dynamic Tranquil is fairly impressive. Though there are a couple of shadows that aren't quite as fabulous as the rest...this is a really excellent release. Those shimmer shades are gorgeous and I am totally obsessed with that bright blue shadow shade. It is a really fun way to incorporate colour into different makeup looks this summer. Stay tuned for a future post where I will be creating two different makeup looks using this drugstore eyeshadow palette.
