at home glam (st patrick's day inspired makeup look)

St. Patrick's Day is almost here. Last year at this time, everything was slowly starting to shut down due to COVID-19. At that point....no one really knew how long things would be shut down for. Bars, nightclubs, and restaurants that normally hosted celebratory St. Patrick's Day events were closed out of "an abundance of caution." Well, a year later, there are still no events and it looks like it will be another St. Patrick's Day spent at home. Not to worry! There are a lot of ways to celebrate from the comfort of your home. Pour a cocktail or mocktail, put on something green, and have a board game night. Or watch a movie. The whole idea is to have fun. One way that I love to celebrate St. Patrick's Day is to create a festive makeup look

When it comes to creating a St. Patrick's Day makeup look...you can do anything you want! This year, I decided to focus on gold and green for the eyes with dusty rose on the cheeks and lips. To tie it all together, there was a bit a green (yes, green) highlight on the cheekbones. The products used for this at home glam makeup look include:

  • KVD Alchemist Holographic Highlight Palette
  • Wet n Wild 32-Pan Eyeshadow Palette
  • Patrick Starrr x MAC Me So Fleek Blush Duo
  • Revolution Matte Dusty Rose Lipstick
  • NYX Epic Ink Liner
  • Diorshow Waterproof Mascara

To start, I used the peachy brown eyeshadow shade to build the crease. Then I applied that bright green colour all over the lid. The crease was deepened with the dark green-blue and then the shimmery golden shade from the top row was used on the inner corner. The NYX liner was used to create a winged look and a coat of mascara to finish it all off. The deepest shade in the Patrick Starrr blush duo was used on the cheeks and a hint of the KVD emerald highlight incorporated that St. Patrick's Day green inspiration. To finish it all off, there was the Revolution lip product. It is essentially a highly tinted lip balm. It offers a nice amount of colour but is ultra hydrating and comfortable on the lips. Perfect for an at home sort kind of makeup look.

Though it won't be a St. Patrick's Day spent hanging out with friends...it is still possible to make things fun. Makeup is one way that I will be doing just that. This particular makeup look was all about green and gold. Tomorrow? Who knows. I will likely scour my makeup collection for even more shades of green to get creative with. However you end up celebrating the holiday, be sure to have fun and add a little green to your beauty routine.

How will you celebrate St. Patrick's Day?
