review: norvina eyeshadow palette (anastasia beverly hills)

Sometimes, a purchase is impulsive. Other times, it requires careful thought and consideration. The latter was certainly true when it came to the Norvina eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills. From the moment it was released... I was intrigued. The soft purple packaging, the combination of shimmers and mattes, and the beautiful colour story called to me. But I wasn't exactly hurting for eyeshadow shades. So, I waited. And then I waited some more. Recently, I was in the middle of placing an order for a few essentials on the Sephora website. While I was on the site, I did a bit of browsing for fun and came across the Norvina eyeshadow palette once again. This time? I took the plunge. Want to find out how the palette performs? If it was worth the wait? Here is everything you need to know about this Anastasia Beverly Hills release.

When it comes to the packaging, the Norvina eyeshadow palette is similar to the infamous Subculture eyeshadow palette. It is a standard ABH size but has a soft velvet cover. This time, it is a beautiful soft purple with white and gold lettering. There is a double ended eyeshadow brush inside (one larger and fluffier side and one smaller and denser side) for easy eyeshadow application. Then there are fourteen square shaped pans. The shades are separated by matte and shimmer. On the top? Shimmer. On the bottom? Matte. This makes the eyeshadow palette both versatile and effortless to use.

As you can see...these colours are absolutely beautiful. Yes, the colour story is incredible. There are warm metallic shades, pinks, purples, browns, and some unexpected neutrals. Thanks to the combination of finishes and the inclusion of light, dark, neutral and colourful shadows, the Norvina eyeshadow palette is extremely versatile. There are lots of standout shades. The shimmery gold colour Dazzling is a standout as is Rose Gold. Favourites from the matte row are Soul (my absolute favourite and the reason this palette kept calling to me) and Eccentric. There are a lot of different ways to put this high end release to use.

The overall quality of the shadows and the pigmentation level is impressive. It is on par with most Anastasia Beverly Hills releases (like the Carli Bybel palette) but is not as mind-blowing as the Master Palette by Mario. The texture is smooth and buttery and the shadows are oh-so-easy to work with. So far, it has been a really exciting addition to my makeup collection. Want to see the Norvina palette in action? Below is a makeup look that incorporates some of the purple shades from the palette and that warm brown for a bit of contrast. Take a look....

The purple inspired makeup look shown above was recently filmed for my YouTube channel. It also included a purple toned blush and a purple KVD liquid lipstick. Curious? Be sure to check out the video below.

All in all, the Norvina eyeshadow palette from Anastasia Beverly Hills was worth the wait. The colours are beautiful, the packaging is simple but fun, and the quality is impressive. It has been wonderful to put the colours to use and get creative. From daytime neutrals to colourful glam....there are lots and lots of possibilities.

Have you tried the Norvina eyeshadow palette? Are you a fan of Anastasia Beverly Hills?

  2. "The Masked Singer" is a really funny show =) Yes this is really hard, the most of us thought it will end soon and now one year later nothing has changed - ok maybe a little bit. This is really crazy.

Great review, this palette has many beautiful eyeshadows =) I like rose on my eyes. Your make up look is pretty beautiful, like the way you use them.
