Care Bears Countdown....5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Any kid that grew up in the late 80s and early 90s remembers the Care Bears all too well. Though there is a new version out now, the original series will always have a special place in my heart. The characters were colourful, the plot lines were memorable, and the lessons were valuable. Thanks to the Care Bears, millions of children learned to be kind to one another, to be considerate of others, and to lean on friends in hard times. The Care Bears inspired viewers to do their best and to apologize when they made a mistake. There was so much to be learned from the cute and cuddly cast of characters. Since the Care Bears are such an important part of my childhood...the Violet Voss x Care Bears collection made me positively giddy. Earlier in the week, there was a post dedicated to the Mini Eyeshadow Palette. Today, it is all about the 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette. Here is everything you need to know about this colourful release. 

First thing is first. Let's talk about the packaging. It is very similar to the mini palette, but there are different Care Bears featured on the front. Talk about cute! On the inside, the shadows are named after different Care Bears, like Cheer Bear, Funshine Bear, and Grumpy Bear. Everything about this collection is thoughtful, aesthetically pleasing, and downright adorable. While the mini palette had six eyeshadow shades, the full sized palette has twelve shades with much larger pans of product. Each shadow is quite large and it would take a very long time to hit pan on any of them. Let's take a closer look at the shades...

As you can see, these eyeshadow shades are incredibly pigmented. Which is what I have come to expect from Violet Voss at this point! Each shadow packs a real punch...especially those shimmers. They are so rich and have a very creamy texture. I love that the shades are buildable and that there is a real range of colours here. The addition of that deep brown shade (Tenderheart Bear) is wonderful, because it adds another layer of versatility to the palette. Not only are there matte and shimmer shades to choose from, but it is possible to add depth to a makeup look thanks to the inclusion of that darker shade. Plus, the light holographic shimmer (True Heart Bear) works well on the inner corner, underneath the brow bone, or even worn as a highlight on the cheeks. There really is a lot of versatility to enjoy here. 

This Care Bears palette certainly doesn't skimp on bright bold colours...and it is possible to create an awful lot of makeup looks. For instance, the red and pink shades would be ideal for a Valentine's Day creation, the metallic shades would be perfect for a night out or an everyday makeup look, and the greens, blues, and purples can be used for unexpected pops of colour. Whether you want something that is over the top or something warm and wearable, the Violet Voss x Care Bears 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette makes it possible. Yes, I am a big fan of this eyeshadow palette. I love the quality of the shadows, the pigmentation level, the variety of finishes and colours, and the theme. It is the ultimate collaboration. 

The look below made good use of the pink and red shades, the shimmery white shade, the brown for a hint of depth, and even featured a subtle pop of colour along the lower lash line. It was wonderful to play with colour and do something different.
