review + reveal: charmed aroma mermaid candle

Mermaid themed items are always a good idea. Countless brands have released mermaid inspired items over the years. From mermaid eyeshadow palettes to mermaid tail brushes...everything is fair game. Even candles, it seems! Not too long ago, I was gifted a Mermaid Candle from the Charmed Aroma Under the Sea Ring Collection. This mermaid inspired candle is oh-so-themed and contains an unforgettable accessory inside. Ready for another review and reveal? Here goes....

The first thing to talk about is of course the actual shape of the candle holder. Many Charmed Aroma candles are simple round containers. But others are elaborate and really lean into the theme of the release. This Mermaid Candle definitely falls into the latter category. It is actually a mermaid inspired mug. It has a light seafoam green base with scalloped mermaid fins printed throughout. The actual mug handle comes in a shiny gold and creates the appearance of a mermaid tail. Something fun? After the candle has been burned completely, the mug can be repurposed any way you like. Personally, I think this will be a great decorative piece and a fun way to store accessories or even some random odds and ends. 

So...how does it smell? Very mermaid inspired! Charmed Aroma rarely mentions the intended scent or ingredients, so I will do my best to describe it. The candle smells both fresh and warm. It has top notes that are quite bright and comforting. Then there is a lovely vanilla scent intertwined. The end result is something that feels very on theme. Almost like stepping into The Little Mermaid ride in Walt Disney World. It just feels right. There were several possible ring designs hidden inside this particular candle. After about four hours of burn time, that little tin foil packet was revealed. 

Ta da! Inside the Mermaid Candle was a beautiful mermaid themed ring. This design has a sea shell on either side and a cluster of blue and white stones in the center. I love those beautiful blue stones because they add a subtle splash of colour. The stones are also ultra sparkly. The ring itself is fairly dainty but still has lots of personality thanks to those sea shells. According to the Charmed Aroma appraisal, the value of the ring is $55. Not bad at all! These candles are always so much fun to burn (I love the smells and the surprise element) and the accessories are a lot of fun to wear (the pieces are beautiful and really round out my accessories collection). All in all, this was another success.
