#FOTD: soft pink makeup look (feat. holiday products)

Officially, winter doesn't start until December 21st, but in my mind, the season is already here. This might have to do with the fact that there are Christmas decorations everywhere you look. Or perhaps it has to do with the snow that has already fallen. Whatever the reason, my heart is full of seasonal joy. A lot of people love the summer months, but I tend to thrive during the fall and winter. Currently, my home is decorated and I am tackling my holiday to-do list. I have watched a ton of festive movies and have listened to hours upon hours of Christmas songs. There is so much to love about this time of year! Since I am fully immersed in all things winter, it only made sense to use a few holiday beauty products to create a recent #FOTD. 

Every year, there are seasonal releases and holiday themed items on the shelves. Sometimes one or two of those seasonal releases are added to my collection. For this #FOTD, it made sense to use a few standout seasonal products from the past as well as some everyday essentials. Here are the products used to create this soft pink makeup look...

• Cover Girl The Super Sizer Mascara
• Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner Pencil
• NYX Epic Ink Liner Pen 

All of those high-end and drugstore products were used to create the soft pink makeup look below...

To create this #FOTD, several holiday items were put to good use. For the eyes, several shadows from the Kylie Cosmetics Holiday Pressed Powder Palette were used. It all started with Check ID (a warm mauve) through the crease. Then there was a bit of Forever Young (matte pink) all over the lid. Then a generous amount of Kandy Heart (bright candy coloured pink) was blended with a fluffy crease brush for a colourful but wearable finish. Almond (deep brown) was used to deepen the crease. Along the lower lash line, there was a bit of Obsidian (matte black) on the outer corner and some more Kandy Heart was applied the rest of the way. The inner corner and brow bone area featured Jack Frost (white-gold shimmer). Then there was the NYX Epic Ink Liner Pen applied on top to create a winged look and the Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner Pencil was applied along the lower lash line. The Super Sizer from Cover Girl was used to add lots of drama to the lashes. 

On the cheeks, it was all about that Too Faced Christmas in Rome Blush Palette. This particular palette has four different shades to choose from, but Cuter on a Scooter (warm pink-mauve) seemed like the ideal choice. It worked well with the pinks and browns used in the eye makeup look. To finish off the look, the NYX Matte Lipstick in the shade Lavender & Lace (which was seen in a NYX Lip Vault Try On video earlier this year). I love the combination of the pinks, browns, and mauve colours. Though this look may not necessarily scream winter...these holiday products remind me just how much I adore this time of year.
