RuPaul's Drag Race has introduced the world to many talented drag performers. Over the years, some have stood out to me more than others. My all-time favourite is Alaska, but another performer that is high on my list is Kim Chi from Season 8 of RuPaul's Drag Race. I immediately fell in love with her incredible makeup skills. Kim Chi is ridiculously talented and has continued to gain popularity post-show. Especially since Kim Chi Chic Beauty launched back in 2019. Good news for Canadian fans and beauty lovers: the beauty brand is finally available in Canada. Many of the products can be found on the Shoppers Drug Mart website. Which is exactly how this mini haul of Kim Chi Chic Beauty came to be.
The third item in this mini haul was the High Key Gloss in the shade Natural. There were four shades available, which included a clear gloss, a vampy purple gloss, and a deep red gloss. The natural shade stood out to me, because it is a brown, and I love a brown lip. (90s makeup was certainly onto something there.) The High Key Gloss comes in a cute pink box that lists all of the benefits, like the fact that the product is cruelty free, PEGs free, sulfate free, vegan, paraben free, phthalates free, synthetic fragrance free, and talc free. I love that the products are formulated ethically. As for the packaging, it is pretty standard and has a clear plastic tube with a bright pink cap. Even though this is a gloss, it is intensely pigmented. I mean...wow. This performs like a liquid lipstick but it has all of that gorgeous glossy shine. Without question, this is a new favourite. I adore the colour, the pigmentation level, the quality, and how this feels on the lips. I cannot wait to try out different colours from the line.
Want to see the High Key Gloss in Natural in action? Stay tuned. The next two posts here on the creation of beauty is art. will be focused on those teddy bear shaped eyeshadow palettes...and the looks shown will make good use of this stunning gloss.
