#OOTD: AAA Girls Drag Show
There are some nights that are beyond memorable. They are special. That is the best way to describe my experience seeing the AAA Girls recently. In case you don't know already....the AAA Girls are made up of Alaska, Willam, and Courtney Act. They are drag queens who were all featured on various seasons of RuPaul's Drag Race. (Alaksa, my personal favourite, actually went on to win All Stars 2.) They came to Toronto on their Access All Areas tour a few weeks ago, so my sister and I jumped at the chance to see these incredible performers take the stage.
They were amazing! The show featured songs from their album, lots of glitter, costume changes, and even a musical number poking fun at season nine contestant Valentina. Despite the crowded venue, my sister and I were able to secure a decent spot, grab a few drinks, and check out the merchandise table. (I ended up buying an Alaska t-shirt with snakes all over it. Which, I am actually wearing right now, oddly enough!) Since this was a drag show....I wanted to go all out when it came to my makeup. So I thought that today I would show you what I wore to see the AAA Girls.
My outfit consisted of my Alaska tank top and necklace (both were found at Hot Topic), a pair of dark skinny jeans, neutral nails with tons of glitter on top, dangly earrings with tons of sparkle, and Alaska inspired hair and makeup. I did a half up half down hairstyle with curls on the bottom....for a more subtle take on her signature look. Then for makeup, I went full blown glitter. I used my Ariel eyeshadow palette from Sephora to blend together different shades of green. Then added my Too Faced loose glitter over top for an ultra dramatic finish. Then there was lots of liner and lashes and a bit of Hard Candy lipstick to top it all off. Oh, and a bit of green highlight from my Kat Von D Alchemist palette. Yes, there were lots and lots of products going on!
As you can see from all of the pictures above, it was a really fun show! Not only did I have the chance to play around with some colourful makeup (and glitter) but I was able to have fun and let loose at an amazing drag show. Oh, and spend time with my sister. All in all, it was a fabulous evening. And with another drag show coming up in the near future....life is good!
Another reason life is good? Makeup! My latest YouTube video is all about a new-to-me makeup brand, Pink Beauty. Find out if it is good, bad, or somewhere in between.
Have you ever been to a drag show?
