kate somerville goat milk moisturizing cleanser (review)

It is nice to test out different skin care items every now and then. Thankfully, I have been able to do just that thanks to the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser. This is a brand that I have heard an awful lot about over the last little while, so it is exciting to try out a product for myself. Since I have dry skin, it is especially thrilling that this item is designed to moisturize, remove dirt and oil, and leave the skin feeling soft and smooth. Those are all excellent claims, but are they actually accurate? Well, it is time to find out with this high-end skin care review dedicated to Kate Somerville.

To be honest, this is not a skin care product that I likely would have purchased for myself. This is largely due to the price. At $57 CDN, it certainly is not affordable...and there are a lot of affordable skin care products out there that I already know and enjoy. However, one of my closest friends very generously gifted me the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser and it was certainly appreciated. I could not wait to incorporate it into my regular skin care routine. Where to begin? How about the packaging? Skin care products sometimes have luxurious and elaborate designs and other times, things are far more simplistic. I like that this falls somewhere in the middle. The soft purple colour with the white text is aesthetically pleasing, but this is not so luxe that it looks out of place in my bathroom. It strikes a nice balance between style and substance.

Now, to address all of those product claims. Once again, the Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser is designed for sensitive skin, cleanses, moisturizes, and leaves the skin feeling softer. According to the brand, "this creamy moisturizing cleanser, enriched with soothing Goat Milk, Natural Milk Polypeptides, and nourishing Manuka Honey, gently removes impurities, oil and makeup, without stripping the skin of essential moisture. This sulfate-free formula cushions as it cleanses, leaving skin soft, sooth, and healthy-looking." Those are some seriously significant claims and I was extra excited to see if the product would live up to them all. The verdict? Yes. And then some. There is a lot to love about this cleanser.

The Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser has a very light scent. It is not overwhelming at all and does not linger after you rinse off the product. In short? This cleanser is quick and easy to use, straight forward and simple, and delivers on the product claims. That is a win to me. I love that the cleanser doesn't leave my skin feeling tight and dry afterwards. It really does make my skin feel smooth and refreshed. Though I enjoy the product (and will happily use the bottle)...I am still unsure whether the high price tag is something that I am willing to splurge on myself in future. Time will tell. Until then, this Kate Somerville Goat Milk Moisturizing Cleanser will remain an absolute jewel in my regular skin care routine.

Have you tried anything from Kate Somerville? What did you think of the products?
