Few television shows are as iconic and beloved as Friends. The show has left a lasting impression on audiences all over the world...and not too long ago, there was even a reunion special. Friends is one of those shows that everyone has seen and can quote at random. Each character is known and loved. And there seems to be no slowing down. Even though the show ended in 2004, it continues to live on thanks to reruns, DVD sales, and streaming. Not to mention all of the merchandise! It isn't hard to find Friends themed products these days. And that includes makeup. Recently, the Friends x Revolution collection launched and it was thrilling to say the least. Everything looked so adorable and was affordable as well. Cute themed makeup that doesn't break the bank? Sounds good to me. friends themed makeup?? (friends x revolution review)
Forever Flawless - We Were on a Break Eyeshadow Palette. Talk about colourful. If you are a fan of Friends, but you also love bright and bold eyeshadow shades...this is definitely the perfect palette for you. There is nothing neutral about the We Were on a Break eyeshadow palette. Honestly? There is a lot to love here. There are so many unique and beautiful colours to choose from. Not to mention a variety of finishes! It is extremely versatile in terms of the finishes and shade selection. However, this palette is really lacking that one darker colour to really tie everything together. If you want to make something a little smokier, then you will need to reach for an outside shadow. That is a bit of a letdown, because when I am using a palette, I don't like to reach for additional colours. It should be an all-in-one experience. That being said, the colours that are in the palette are stunning. Some standouts include Apartment (that iconic purple), Love Machine (bright pink) and Duck (sparkly orange).
As you can tell from the shade names, this palette is perfectly themed. From the apartment door and peephole that are printed on the front of the packaging to the imprints in some of the shadows and of course, the incredible shade names, there is so much to love. This is definitely a treat for any fan of Friends. Each eyeshadow will instantly remind you of those classic episodes. In terms of performance, these shadows are impressive. The mattes are really creamy and are shockingly pigmented. The shimmers instantly add that extra wow factor and that golden glitter adds a little extra versatility to the palette. All in all, it is really wonderful. I just wish that there was one slightly darker colour to make this more than just a rainbow palette.
Character Inspired Lip Glosses. Next up? Some fabulously themed lip products. The Friends x Revolution collection had one colour for each character...but three stood out to me. Chandler (a soft baby pink), Rachel (a clear gloss), and Ross (a bright pink). These glosses are absolutely adorable. Not only are they compact in size, but the caps are incredible. Take a look at the turkey wearing sunglasses on the top of Chandler, the Central Perk logo on Rachel, and the Marcel print on Ross. Everything that I have seen from this collection is thoughtful, whimsical, and fun. As for the glosses themselves? I am obsessed. These smell like coconut (which I happen to love the smell of), are not sticky, and have a large doe foot applicator to make application quick, easy, and effective. Out of the three, Chandler is my favourite gloss, because that soft baby pink is something that I can see myself wearing the most. That being said, I love the clear gloss and that bright pink colour is ideal for a bolder look.
Clearly, I am totally obsessed with that purple eyeshadow shade, Apartment. It is my favourite from the palette. The look above made good use of that bold purple colour and added in some of the pink shades as well for a little extra oomph. Then it was the clear gloss all over the lips to make sure the shadow was the star of the show. Want to take a closer look at the We Were on a Break eyeshadow palette?
