beginner series: achieve thicker and fuller eyelashes

There’s nothing quite like thick eyelashes. They always stand out! Unfortunately, we aren’t all blessed with them naturally. Not to worry...there are many ways to make the most of what you’ve got. This beginner series lash guide will: show you how to add thickness to your natural lashes, overview the best ways to promote lash growth, and outline products that will make your lashes look their best. If you’ve been dreaming of photo-ready eyelashes, look no further. A few small changes can make all the difference. Now is the perfect time to maximize your lashes.

Figure Out Your Specific Needs

Before your lashes can start looking thicker and fuller, it is important to determine your needs. Take off your makeup completely and look in the mirror. How do your lashes appear? Are they short and thick? Long and sparse? Curled? Straight? There are as many different types of lashes out there as they are people. So, pinpoint what you want to focus on. For instance, if you want more thickness to your lashes, take note. Knowing what you actually need will make it easier to make decisions.

Start With Natural Solutions

Believe it or not, you don’t always have to reach for the latest beauty product to make your eyelashes look fantastic. There is more to life than mascara. (Shocking, I know!) To make your lashes look fuller and healthier,  be sure to take your makeup off before you go to bed each night. Leaving mascara on overnight can weaken the lashes and cause them to fall out more frequently. A few extra minutes at night can actually make your lashes much stronger.

If you’re looking to condition your lashes, try petroleum jelly. After you’ve taken off your makeup, apply a small amount of petroleum jelly directly onto the lashes. This will make them softer and give them added moisture. It will also help your eyelashes look super thick. Another solution? Brush coconut oil or castor oil through your lashes for added length.

Your lashes can also benefit from a healthy and well balanced diet. Eat lots of fruits and veggies and cut back on junk food whenever possible. Not only will that help you to feel better overall, but it will also improve the look of your eyelashes. If your diet is lacking, taking vitamins can also make a big difference. Your hair and eyelashes require certain vitamins to stay strong. So talk to a health care professional about vitamin B, vitamin A, and vitamin E.

Use The Right Products

Now that you’ve started to take care of your lashes the natural way, it is time to think about the products you’re using on them. There are so many different types of mascaras out there – lash accelerators, waterproof mascaras, tube mascara, hypoallergenic formulas…the list is endless. It’s all about finding a product that targets your specific needs.

If you are all about lash growth, choose a lash accelerator. There are many different kinds on the market, from drugstore to high end. So, whatever your price range is, there are options to consider. Using a lash accelerator can add length to your lashes instantly from the mascara and make your lashes grow longer over time. Alternatively, a lash growth serum can deliver more dramatic results. There are many options, so be sure to read reviews and consider your budget.

For weak lashes, try reaching for a tube mascara instead of a traditional mascara formula. This type of mascara coats your lashes (think about tubes of mascara surrounding your lashes) and can only be removed with hot water or an oil-based makeup remover. Wearing tube mascara can protect your lashes and help make them stronger.

Be Smart About False Lashes

Sure, false eyelashes are a great way to add instant drama to your makeup look. However, when you wear them too often, they can cause damage to your natural lashes due. (Especially if you are new to the process and struggle with application or removal.) Over wearing falsies can lead to lashes being ripped out by accident and even cause them to become weaker. The most important thing to do is to avoid wearing them every single day – and make sure to remove them properly.

Instead of wearing false lashes every day, save them for special occasions. This will prevent any damage and help your lashes look much better without them. When it comes to removing false eyelashes, always be as gentle as possible. The glue can sometimes pull on your natural lashes, so tread carefully! If you’ve layered your lashes, be especially careful during removal.

To achieve thicker and fuller lashes, it is important to take care of the ones you have. Focus on improving your eyelashes naturally, using the right products, and being careful when wearing false lashes. By following these simple and effective steps, you will maximize your lashes in no time flat.
