2 looks 1 palette: urban decay wild greens eyeshadow palette

There used to be a lot of Urban Decay in my makeup collection. After all, there was a time where the Naked Eyeshadow Palettes were a total must in the beauty community. I hit pan on the original palette thanks to nights out with friends and used the Naked 3 Eyeshadow Palette almost every single day for work. Ahh...makeup memories. Over the years, there have been a few Urban Decay products that have caught my eye (like the Naked Ultraviolet Eyeshadow Palette and the Stoned Vibes Eyeshadow Palette) but generally speaking, there haven't been a ton of items from the brand added to my shopping cart. When I saw the Wild Greens Eyeshadow Palette at Winners for a massively discounted price, my nostalgia took hold, and I decided to see what was happening with Urban Decay. This is an eyeshadow palette that I have been using on and off for the last several months. Ready for a mini review and a couple of makeup looks featuring Wild Greens? Keep reading...

The Wild Greens Eyeshadow Palette from Urban Decay features twelve eyeshadow shades with different earth tones. There are greens, warm oranges, and browns to choose from. It really suits the fall season, though this is a palette that I used throughout the summer months as well. According to the brand, this is a "wildly pigmented vegan eyeshadow palette featuring twelve greens, neutrals, and earthy tones in shimmers, mattes, and metallics." The packaging is interesting because it opens outward and has a magnetic closure in the center. The drawings are very earthy as well, with snakes, plants, and a metallic green finish. I love the theme, the somewhat compact packaging, and the colour story. There are some really wonderful eyeshadows inside in a variety of finishes. I especially love the matte greens (Supergreens and Kale), the matte orange-red (Turmeric), and the metallics (Prickly, Fuzz, Twist, and Hi-Vibe). There is a solid theme overall, but it still offers variety.

Look #1: Glorious Greens. With a palette called Wild Greens, it was an absolute necessity to highlight some of those colourful green eyeshadows. To create the look above, the lightest green, Supergreens, was applied to the inner third of the eyelid. The deeper green, Kale, was applied to the rest of the lid. A bit of Stash (dark green) was added to the lower lash line and to the outer corner. The matte shades were blended out with Lo-Fi and then a bit of Twist was added to the center of the lid to add just a hint of shimmer to this otherwise matte makeup look. Some liner and mascara finished off the eyes. The rest of this makeup look was fairly simple, with a neutral blush and lip colour, in order to let those colourful greens shine.

Look #2: Warm Neutrals. The second look made use of the warm neutrals included in the Wild Greens Eyeshadow Palette. The shade Turmeric was applied all over the lid and along the lower lash line. On top, that colour was blended out with Earthside and Kickback. A bit of Chill was used on the inner corner to add some shimmer and then Hi-Vibe was added to the lid for lots of sparkle and shine. A bit of mascara and liner finished off the eyes. On the cheeks, there was a warm peach blush applied liberally (because there is nothing better than a heavy-handed blush) to mirror the warm colours on the eyes.

The Wild Greens Eyeshadow Palette from Urban Decay is a solid release. The packaging is simple but effective, the colour story is fabulous, and the variety of finishes make this an ultra versatile release. It has been fun creating all sorts of different looks.

What do you think of these makeup looks? Are you a fan of Urban Decay products?
