the only failure is not knowing how to be happy.

When music, fashion, and photography come together, it is a beautiful thing. This is exactly what happened in Celine Dion's latest magazine spread! After seeing Celine Dion's photos for V magazine, I was so inspired.

What I love most about this set of photos is how dramatic they are. Celine looks sultry, strong, and exudes sex appeal. At the same time, she still manages to look sweet and flirty. I also am a big fan of black and white photography, so this photoshoot was a hit for me!

What do you think of these photos of Celine Dion?

knowledge is always accompanied with accessories of emotion and purpose.

What girl doesn't love great accessories? One great piece can completely change the feel of an outfit! This is why it is so important to find accessories that you love. Which is why I was lucky to receive a couple of accessories from VIVI Clothes.

Of everything that was sent, I particularly loved the earrings!

The big yellow earrings are my favourite pair! They are over-sized, bright yellow ball earrings. They are dramatic but fun, and add a great pop of colour to any look! I adore them!

The second pair of earrings I received, were simply adorable! They are clear, dangly, and teddy bear shaped! Despite their super cute shape, they look surprisingly sophisticated! Cute and fashionable!

VIVI Clothes has a ton of gorgeous stuff to check out, from clothes to accessories! Check out their website for more information!

when I would see shows that changed my life.

Going to concerts has always been a part of my life.

I know some people would rather stay at home and listen to the CD, but for me, there is something about the electricity in the air. Concerts are a place to get lost in a moment; to get completely carried away by a feeling, a note, or person - they are magical.

Last week, I was lucky enough to have two concerts fall in the same week! I went to the American Idols Live Tour with my Mom, and to the Our Lady Peace concert with my boyfriend. Very different shows, but I had a lot of fun at both.

What is the last concert you went to?

a good book has no ending.

This summer has been a busy one. I've been trying to balance my career aspirations with a social life. Even further, I've been making sure I allow time for reading in my schedule - there is nothing like a good book to completely take you away.

Thankfully, I've been able to combine my career aspirations with my love of reading. I recently wrote a book review of I Think I Love You by Allison Pearson. It's a wonderful novel about growing up in Wales in the 1970s, and a pair of friends bonded by their love of David Cassidy.

The Uncustomary Book Review published my review of I Think I Love You on their website earlier this week. It would mean the world to me if you took the time to read it!

review: red apple lipstick

There are so many different makeup brands out there - some good, some not so good. When it comes to Red Apple Lipstick...they are simply amazing!

Not only are the products high quality, but safe too! Every single Red Apple Lipstick product is gluten free, lead and paraben free, vegan, cruelty free, and mineral based. So, not only will you look gorgeous, but you'll feel gorgeous knowing that your makeup is good for you!

I was recently lucky enough to sample a few Red Apple Lipstick products - a lipstick, lipgloss, and eyeshadow. Here are some of my thoughts!

Lipstick: Sunkissed

I already know that Sunkissed is going to become one of my favourite lipsticks. To begin with, the colour is just gorgeous! This is such a beautiful coral shade - perfect to add a little pop to any makeup look! Red Apple Lipstick also has a ton of other beautiful shades to choose from.

What I really love about this lipstick is how rich it is. The texture is smooth and creamy, and the colour payoff is fantastic. Best of all, the lipstick is super hydrating on the lips!

Lipgloss: Bridesmaid

If you're looking for a deep pink lipgloss, then Bridesmaid will be perfect for you. This gloss is fantastic! It has a great amount of colour payoff for a lipgloss - I might be a touch addicted to this one! It is the perfect way to finish off an everyday makeup look!

What I love most about Bridesmaid is the shimmer! Not only is the product glossy, but it adds a subtle amount of shimmer to the lips as well. The formula is smooth and not at all sticky - which is always make or break with me when it comes to glosses! This lipgloss is just a wonderful product - I love it!

Eyeshadow: Buttercream

There is nothing like a great eyeshadow. This is why I was so excited to try one of Red Apple Lipstick's shadows! All of their eyeshadows are mineral shadows, designed to be allergen free and gentle on the skin. The eyeshadow case also comes with an applicator and mirror - so useful!

The shade I was able to try, is a beautiful shimmery white. Buttercream is perfect to use all over the lid, in the inner corner of the eye or underneath the brow bone. The texture of the shadow is smooth and soft. My favourite thing about this eyeshadow was that I didn't experience any fallout while using it. Not only was it gorgeous and shimmery, but it stayed put!

Left to Right: Buttercream, Sunkissed, and Bridesmaid.

Red Apple Lipstick not only has incredible makeup, but offers some really cool discounts! If you sign up for their VIP Club, you will instantly get a 20% off coupon! They also offer a lipstick exchange - send in a lipstick you don't like, from any brand, and you'll receive a Red Apple Lipstick at a reduced rate! How cool!

If you're interested in finding out more about Red Apple Lipstick, or want to browse their makeup selection, be sure to head to !

After trying some Red Apple Lipstick products, I can honestly say that I am a fan. Check out their website and let me know what you think!

in the fashion industry, everything goes retro except the prices.

Fashion is always evolving. The fun of a new trend is almost as fun as rediscovering an old one! I love classic, retro-inspired styles the most. There is something about the Audrey's and Marilyn's that really encapsulate beauty. Lately, I've been so inspired by retro style that I had to re-create a classic makeup look!

What has been inspiring you lately?

inspired by: elizabeth olsen

Growing up, I have always been a massive fan of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Recently, I have become a fan of their equally talented and fashionable sister, Elizabeth Olsen - especially her style! It is hard to ignore Elizabeth's adventurous, but laid-back, boho inspired fashion sense.

Are you a fan of Elizabeth Olsen's style?

beauty is an ecstasy; it is as simple as hunger.

Here it is - part two of my recent shopping haul!

I went into Sephora with a few things on my wishlist. I ended up purchasing Urban Decay's Naked Palette, Benefit's They're Real! mini-mascara, and Tarte's blush and bronzer set. I also was recently given a set of Sephora Nail Bling Nail Stickers that I haven't had a chance to try yet.

Urban Decay: Naked Palette

The most important thing on my makeup wishlist was Urban Decay's Naked Palette. I have been wanting to splurge on this for some time, and finally had an excuse to! When I went into Sephora, I was still debating between the original Naked Palette or Naked 2, but ultimately chose to start with the original.

I've been using this palette a lot since I bought it. Generally, I love using more neutral colours to create a smokey eye. Browns and golds are my go-to eye shadow shades, which makes this palette perfect for me! I love the range of colours and the variety of shimmery and matte shades.
Benefit: They're Real! Mascara

After hearing rave reviews of Benefit's They're Real! mascara, I was intrigued. Not feeling secure enough to purchase the full-sized mascara, I decided to buy this smaller size to try it out. Now that I've tried it, I am wishing I bought the full size one!

My favourite mascara has always been Dior's Diorshow - it is just an excellent mascara all around. But after trying Benefit's They're Real mascara, I am completely torn between an old love and a new favourite!

The mascara wand with this mascara is amazing. The rounded tip of the wand makes getting those inner lashes and bottom lashes a million times easier. The mascara itself lasts all day without any smudging, even in the summer heat! And the best part? It makes my lashes look amazing. I have a new love in my life, and it is Benefit's They're Real! mascara!

Tarte: Dollface Blush and Park Avenue Princess Bronzer

When it comes to blush, NARS is my go-to brand. However, I have heard some really wonderful things about Tarte, but had never tried anything from them. So when I saw this blush and bronzer set, I thought it would be a great opportunity to try out something from the brand.

While the blush looks like a really bright pink in the packaging, it actually comes off as a much deeper and richer colour. It looks really beautiful, especially on bronzey skin! It lasts really well and the pigmentation is quite good!

I actually love the bronzer more than the blush! Unlike so many other bronzers that I have, this has a nice golden tone to it, rather than brown. It looks beautiful on the cheeks and is absolutely perfect for summer!

Have you tried any of these products? What are your most recent makeup buys?
