Back in November, several fragrance oils from Main Street Melts were featured on the creation of beauty is art. (As a reminder, these are theme park inspired scents. I fell in love with the brand shortly after visiting Walt Disney World last year. In a post-Walt Disney World blues state of mind, my sad scrolling led me to an Etsy shop that sold scents inspired by some of my favourite rides, restaurants, and theme park treats. The first post about Main Street Melts Candle Co. can be seen here.) In that last post, there were all sorts of fragrance oils featured...and some that were intended to be reviewed in a part two. It is finally time for part two of that previous Main Street Melts haul. Here are some more theme park scent reviews.

Somehow, the month of December is halfway over. This time of year always seems to move too fast. The endless to-do lists, decorating, shopping, wrapping, cards, and all the rest seem to make the days zip by in a flash. So, it is nice to pause and reflect on the little things that add magic and wonder to the holiday season. These are some of my seasonal favourites for 2025.

After my last Walt Disney World vacation, it was hard to settle back into real life. Especially knowing it was not a place that I could return for several years. (Partly because Disney is expensive, but mostly because of the political situation over there.) So, it was Main Street Melts Candle Co. that I turned to. Their products made it possible to bring a little bit of Disney magic to my home. The first time around, there were ten fragrance oils added to my Etsy cart. All have been used regularly since that time, but the Spaceship Earth inspired blend was easily the most loved. My bottle reached the halfway point and I decided to purchase a couple of backup bottles. And while I was browsing, I decided to purchase a few Christmas gifts for loved ones. And then I decided to try a few other essential oil blends. Truth be told, my shopping cart got a little out of hand, but I am now stocked up for the foreseeable future. On that note...this is part one of my latest main Street Melts Candle Co. order. The second half will be posted at some point, but for now, it is time to find out more about these theme park inspired scents.

There is something special about seasonal scents. Truth be told, fall and winter have become my favourite times of year for a whole lot of reasons....including the various holidays. When out and about, there was this Spooky Aroma Oils set that caught my eye at Winners. It was not something that I planned on purchasing, but after looking at the different essential oil blends, the Halloween themed scents seemed like an ideal addition. I love candles, wall plug-ins, essential oils, room sprays, perfumes, and well, all things scented. It just makes the home feel extra special. The post-Walt Disney World blues have been extreme this time around. After a visit to the most magical place on Earth, it is common for me to feel a little sad adjusting back to the real world. However, knowing there will not be a return trip for several years really got me in my feelings. That is how I found myself searching for Walt Disney World inspired scents on Etsy shortly after returning back home. Enter the Main Street Melts Candle Co. The company has all sorts of Disney inspired items, including candles, melts, room sprays, and oils. Since I have a diffuser that has been neglected in recent months, it seemed wise to focus on some of the available oils. Though there were many that caught my eye (and many that will be ordered in the future) my first order included ten different essential oil blends. It took about twenty three days for the oils to arrive, which was not too bad, and everything was well packed. Though the Charmed Aroma store in my area closed last year, every now and then, someone orders me something from the brand online. For Valentine's Day, a loved one gifted me the Aladdin Genie Lamp Jewelry Candle. It was very exciting to receive because I love candles, jewellery, and Disney movies. Cinderella is one of those movies that reminds me of my youth. Though all Disney cartoons were special, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Pocahontas were some of my most watched VHS tapes. Those characters always felt extra special to me. When it comes to Cinderella, there was (and still is) a lot to love. The beautiful dress, the cute animals, and of course, the idea that miracles happen to good people. I loved it all. Fun fact: my wedding theme was actually Cinderella! Needless to say, the movie, the music, and the characters will always be important to me. I suppose it is fitting that my last Charmed Aroma review and reveal is a Cinderella themed one. The Charmed Aroma stores have all shut down where I live and I do not like the idea of shipping breakable items to my doorstep. So...this is it as far as I can tell. Well, my days of writing about Charmed Aroma are nearing an end. As I mentioned in my advent calendar post recently, the Charmed Aroma store near me finally closed down. So...all there is left to review is this Holiday House candle and one Disney themed candle that was gifted to me during the holiday season. It is definitely a bummer, because I love candles and I love jewellery. Having the two combined was a total thrill. Ahh well, it sure was nice while it lasted. Now it is time to talk about one of the last Charmed Aroma candles in my foreseeable future: the Charmed Aroma Holiday House Opal Necklace Collection.

In my last post about Charmed Aroma, I mentioned that there were STORE CLOSING signs absolutely everywhere. Given the little that was left in the store at that time, it seemed that their days were numbered. Imagine my surprise when there was new stock at the store during my last visit to the mall. (But the STORE CLOSING signs remained. Perhaps stock from another location was brought there? It's hard to know.) Whether this was my last visit to Charmed Aroma remains to be seen, but I did decide to bring home one more candle. Oh, candles. I love them a little too much. This might have to do with the fact that candles were forbidden back in the days when I lived with my parents. They were afraid that I was going to be neglectful and burn down the house. (A fair concern.) Since that time...candles have become a must in my home. The scents, the flickering flame, and the cute candle jars never fail to make me smile. They are a simple way to add a little extra joy to my day. Especially since I work from home! The right candle can be the perfect pick-me-up. Knowing how much I love candles, my husband braved the Bath & Body Works Candle Day several months back and gifted me a bunch of different candles over the holidays. Snow globes are nostalgic. Growing up, there were always lots and lots of seasonal snow globes around. My mom had a modest collection of snow globes with Christmas cottages and toy shops tucked away inside. I always loved shaking the globes and watching the snow fall over the wintery scene. Even though I am an adult now, snow globes still connect me to those childhood memories. Which is why it was so thrilling to receive a Hogwarts Snow Globe Candle from my parents this past Christmas. My love of Harry Potter is no secret, but it feels complicated these days. I want to make clear that I detest J. K. Rowling and her harmful views. (Not sure what the controversy is? Check out this article to better understand why her exclusionary language is so dangerous.) I love the world of Harry Potter, the characters, the magic, and the themes of love and connection. It is a shame that the author has tarnished something so special. Sometimes it is possible to separate the art from the artist and sometimes it is not. At this point, I have not been able to let go of my love for Harry Potter. It means too much. winter themed charmed aroma reveals (candle + bath bomb)

All good things must come to an end. Or at least that is how the saying goes. Unfortunately, the Charmed Aroma store nearest to me will be no more. I discovered this on Boxing Day as there were STORE CLOSING signs plastered all over the walls. It was my first time heading out for Boxing Day since the pandemic hit...and it was a lot of fun. (Minus the whole store closing business.) It wasn't that there were a ton of great deals at the mall or anything like that. It was just nice to spend the day shopping with my mom. On Boxing Day, I was able to pick up a few discounted holiday items at Hallmark, some seasonal CDs and DVDs at an entertainment store, and a pair of fantastic Sailor Moon sweatpants at Hot Topic. Oh, and a few items from Charmed Aroma as well. I don't know when the store closing was announced, but by Boxing Day, there was not a whole lot left. Ultimately, the Snow Day candle and the Polar Bear Bath Bomb came home with me. There weren't any displays left out, so I had no idea what kind of jewellery would be inside, but at a 60% discount, it was worth finding out.

I can't remember when my obsessions with nutcrackers began, but I do remember unwrapping a nutcracker one year for Christmas. It was a gift from my dad. Medium size, green, with a gold crown. The nutcracker had white tufts of hair and a painted on mustache. It was one of those love at first sight moments. I felt so special. So grown up. This wasn't an ordinary gift of toys or chocolate...it was a nutcracker. Unlike other seasonal decorations, this nutcracker was not put into a bin at the end of December. Oh no. Not my nutcracker. It stayed in my bedroom year round. Actually, it stayed in my bedroom year round until I got married and moved out. Now, it comes out each year and I always take a moment to fondly remember that magical Christmas moment. Many other nutcrackers have been added to my collection since then. Each year, my dad gifts me another special new companion...but the first nutcracker will always be my favourite. There is just something about him.

Tis the season to embrace all things spooky. Some say Nightmare Before Christmas is a Christmas movie. Some say it is a Halloween movie. I'm on the fence. There are years where I watch it around Christmas and there are years where it feels like a Halloween must watch. It is definitely the latter this year. I've listened to "This is Halloween" more times than I care to admit! Something else fueling my Nightmare Before Christmas love? A Charmed Aroma candle, of course. Harry Potter has been a constant in my life. I have such wonderful memories of lining up for book releases and midnight screenings of the movies. Of staying up too late reading and re-reading the books. Of relaxing on a Sunday afternoon with my favourite Harry Potter film. Though the author is not someone I support any longer, I still love the Harry Potter world. (It is hard to believe that someone who wrote about love and understanding could be so...well...you know.) The stories were about good versus evil, confronting your fears, and doing the right thing. They were about friendship, found family, and love. It makes sense that these stories have connected with so many readers and viewers around the world. Since Harry Potter is still an important part of my life, it was hard to resist the latest Charmed Aroma release: a Love Potion Candle.

Bath bombs are not exactly my favourite. The reason is pretty simple: I don't find sitting in a tub with lots of bubbles and fizz to be relaxing. That being said, I know many people who love taking luxurious baths with all the dressings. For those people, the Charmed Aroma Masquerade Bath Bomb would be ideal. For me? It was all about digging out the hidden treasure inside. This was a free little add on and so it only made sense to see what the ring inside would look like. It is always hard for me to resist cute accessories...especially when there is the added surprise. You never know what you are going to get. That is a little unnerving but also somewhat exciting. Some Charmed Aroma products have had incredible rings inside and others have been a little so-so. But I suppose that is the fun of it! Charmed Aroma candles make me happy for many reasons. In addition to the adorable packaging, the candle scents, and the themes...there are also gorgeous accessories tucked inside each candle as well. As someone who loves both candles and jewellery, this is a match made in heaven. One of my friends first introduced me to the brand in 2019 (you can check out my first Charmed Aroma review here) and it has been full steam ahead ever since then. I've enjoyed candles of all shapes and sizes and have been able to incorporate lots of beautiful pieces into my accessories collection. There is a lot to love! bath & body works haul (may 2022)

It is no secret that I love Bath & Body Works products a lot. An awful lot. During the pandemic shut downs, I was desperately missing the foaming hand soaps from the brand. I ran out and wasn't comfortable heading to the mall to buy more for quite some time. Thankfully, in the last six months or so, I've been able to stock up on the foaming hand soaps and was even gifted an assortment of Bath & Body Works items over the holidays. Recently, a standalone Bath & Body Works store opened not too far from where I live. That meant that I was able to stock up on a few more items without having to deal with mall crowds and a lot of people. In fact, the store was essentially empty when I visited. Though there was an awful lot that I wanted to take home with me, I focused on filling in some of the gaps instead. The end result? A little Bath & Body Works haul.
