spring makeup look feat. violet voss (violet sunset palette)

Spring is here! Though the weather is anything but sunshine and flowers. On the plus side, the temperatures continue to rise, and before long, it will be nice enough to head outside every now and then. The spring season is the ideal time to have a little fun with colourful makeup. Thankfully, there is an eyeshadow palette that has been helping me out with that. Violet Voss is known for their bright and bold shades. (The Care Bears Mini Eyeshadow Palette is a favourite of mine.) They consistently deliver on colour...even in a slightly more neutral palette. The Violet Sunset palette still delivers on lots of bright and bold colours, but balances it out with some warm everyday shades as well. It is the perfect palette to kickstart the spring season.

Before diving into this spring makeup look....let's take a closer look at the Violet Sunset PRO Series Eye Shadow and Pressed Pigment Palette from Violet Voss. As you can see from the photo above, there is a nice combination of mattes, shimmers, and metallic shades. The mattes are really pigmented and have a nice texture and the shimmers...wow. Violet Voss does an awful lot right, but the shimmers are especially exceptional. There is something about the formula that is downright outstanding. I love how vibrant they are. While there are many standout shades in this eyeshadow palette, my personal favourites are Lilac, Blush, and Peach. Which is probably the reason those shades were incorporated into a recent spring makeup look.

This spring makeup look was all about making bright colours easy to wear. The shade Blush was used through the crease, Peach was applied to the inner portion of the lid, Violet Sunset to the center, and Lilac to the outer portion of the lid. A little bit of Vanilla was used underneath the brow bone and in the inner corner. Then a bit of Dusk and Lilac along the lower lash line finished off the eyeshadow. Some liner and mascara completed the eyes. On the cheeks, I chose the shade Sugar Crush from the Rude Cosmetics blush palette and on the lips was the Revolution x Friends gloss in the shade Chandler. It was fun to incorporate pinks and purples together to create something that was soft, colourful, and totally spring inspired.

It has been a lot of fun incorporating colour into my makeup looks lately. Here is to a wonderful (and bright) spring season.

How are you welcoming in spring? Have you tried the Violet Sunset palette?
