these are a few of my favourite things.
Every once and a while, it is important to stop and look around you. To focus on the wonderful things in your life and just take a moment to be grateful. This is something I am trying to more of lately. I think social media has intensified this need to buy more, more, more, just to keep up with everyone else. Don't get me wrong....I love a good haul post! And I love to shop. But at the same time, it is important that we don't get so caught up in hoarding new things that we forget how blessed we already are. That is what inspired this post. I decided to go through pictures and look around my apartment - to show you what I have been loving lately. Each thing on this list fills my life with joy.
Connecting With Live Music. There is nothing like a great concert. Though I used to see live music all the time...it isn't something I am able to do as often as I would like. Why? Money and time, really. So whenever there is a show coming up, I am always super excited. A little while ago, I went to see Simple Plan. Though the concert experience wasn't anything like I imagined it would be, it was still nice to be there. The good? My husband was very sweet and it was wonderful to spend some time with him. And Simple Plan was fantastic. The highlights for me were "Shut Up" and "Jump," because they are some of my favourite songs - and I got to feel free for a few minutes!
Watching Lots and Lots of 7th Heaven. Some people would say I have an obsessive personality. And honestly....I agree. There are times when I love to watch only one specific show for weeks at a time. Or music that I like to listen to over and over again. In the last little while? I have been re-watching my 7th Heaven DVDs. (In an effort to use more of the things I have bought over the years!) I love 7th Heaven. Always have, always will. The show just makes me happy. So I have been watching it an awful lot lately. Mostly when I feel alone, want to relax, or before bed. It gives me comfort and joy and I am very grateful for that.
Anything and Everything Pumpkin Scented. I don't know when this happened. Never in my life have I been a fan of pumpkin. Aside from seasonal pumpkin carving, that is! Then last year, something changed. I fell in love with pumpkin spice everything (so basic, I know, but oh well) and this year? I am all over pumpkin scented candles. The Pumpkin Pie one pictured below is amazing because it smells good and makes this gorgeous crackling sound. The Caramel Pumpkin Swirl candle is super sweet and makes the whole apartment feel like fall. I just love these!
Glittering Gold Jewellery and Accessories. I have always been someone who favored silver jewellery. Rarely if ever, do I instinctively reach for something gold. Which is why it is a bit strange that lately I have been all about everything gold. I've been wearing the few items in my accessories collection that are gold and incorporating them into most of my everyday looks. There is just something about the shade that makes me happy lately. Which makes sense, since gold is associated with passion, love, and glamour.
There you have it! Those are a few of the things that are making my life happy and joyous lately. Even if I have a bad day or some aspect of my life feels out of whack...I know there are so many things to be grateful for. Like the things on this list, my wonderful family, and all of you. Thank you so much for being here and supporting the creation of beauty is art.
Do you have any recent favourites? What are they?
