There is something special about seasonal scents. Truth be told, fall and winter have become my favourite times of year for a whole lot of reasons....including the various holidays. When out and about, there was this Spooky Aroma Oils set that caught my eye at Winners. It was not something that I planned on purchasing, but after looking at the different essential oil blends, the Halloween themed scents seemed like an ideal addition. I love candles, wall plug-ins, essential oils, room sprays, perfumes, and well, all things scented. It just makes the home feel extra special. Ready to find out what was included in the Spooky Aroma Oils set from DW Home? Here is everything you need to know about this seasonal essential oil release.
The Spooky Aroma Oils set from DW Home came with five different essential oil blends - and the outer packaging looked like a haunted house. So cute! The actual essential oil bottles are a matte black with cute themed labels that have ghosts, skeletons, bats, crescent moons, spiders, and all sorts of spider webs printed on them. There is a serious commitment to the theme, which is very much appreciated. Here is a summary of the different essential oil blends - and my own mini review for each.
- Ghost Stories. The first essential oil shown is Ghost Stories, which is described as "heavy cream and vanilla bean with hints of nutmeg and brown sugar." This scent is sweet and warm. I have really been enjoying vanilla based scents lately, so this was an immediate love. (Ghost Stories is in my diffuser right now.) It is an amazing blend.
- Fright Night. Next was the essential oil blend, Fright Night, which is described as "white cedarwood and birch with spiced bergamot and musk." This is another winner. It reminds me a bit of a cologne that my husband likes to wear, which he believes is the bergamot coming through. This is warm but fresh and not too overpowering. Not all essential oil blends are made equally, but the ones in this set really wowed. Fright Night was perfectly balanced.
- Dark Forest. When it comes to forest kind of scents, these can be really hit or miss for me. I do not love all of them. In fact, this was the essential oil blend that I was most hesitant about. My worries were for nothing, because Dark Forest is another favourite. It is described as "woodland moss wrapped in herbs with balsamic amber and incense." This is warm, woodsy, and perfectly captures those spooky seasonal vibes. It is an ideal for movie night.
- Midnight Hour. The next essential oil in this set was Midnight Hour, which is described as "mahogany and citrus-infused lavender with teak and ambered musk." Another winner! It is so hard with essential oils sets, because often there is at least one blend that doesn't wow. That was not the case with this Spooky Aroma Oils set. Midnight Hour is light, bright, but still has that spooky sort of vibe. The blend is an absolute delight.
- Wicked Pumpkin. It just wouldn't be October without something pumpkin scented. I have been burning various pumpkin scented candles lately - and now I have this wonderful essential oil to add to the mix as well. Wicked Pumpkin is described as "harvest pumpkin and velvety vanilla with cinnamon, nutmeg, and clove." I am not a huge fan of cinnamon and find it to be overpowering a lot of the time, but luckily, this is more muted thanks to the vanilla, nutmeg, and clove. The pumpkin itself is the star with the other scents adding more depth and interest.
