fall week: early fall favourites (movies, makeup, and more)

At last, the first day of fall has arrived. Though my apartment is already decorated (for both fall and Halloween) and sweaters have been an essential part of my daily routine for the last several weeks, it is only now that autumn has officially started. That means now it is possible to enjoy pumpkin spice flavors without guilt. It is the ideal time to take photographs of the leaves changing colour and to start on that seasonal to-do list. To start this fall theme week, here are some early fall favourites.

Spooky Seasonal Items. Some of my early fall favourites include some fun Halloween themed items. This includes adorable temporary tattoos (maybe I am a child at heart, because I still love temporary tattoos) with cute cartoon pumpkins. On the bottom row is a 3D printed pumpkin candle holder that my husband made for me. We have added a flickering faux tea light inside so he looks spooky and festive. In the middle is one of my favourite fall candles from Bath & Body Works: Pumpkin Pecan Waffles. The fragrance notes are maple syrup, golden waffles, pumpkin spice, and brown sugar. It smells incredible! The last item shown in this photo is the Pumpkin Queen Hello Kitty soap. This is something that I found at Winners and decided to purchase, because I love Hello Kitty, Halloween, and pumpkin scents. The bottle is adorable (and will be reused) but the soap itself has a very light scent, which was a bit disappointing. Ahh well...at least the cute bottle can continue to be used in future.

Makeup, Movies, and Fun Extras. The first early fall favourite is the Halloween Town Eyeshadow Palette from Melt Cosmetics. This has a lot of beautiful colours, including some purples, blues, greens, and metallics. It has been in heavy rotation lately - and will be featured on the creation of beauty is art. a little later in the fall season. In the center is a new DVD to my movie collection, All The Boys Love Mandy Lane starring the incredible Amber Heard. I have seen this before and loved it, but was looking to own it, so my husband kindly treated me to the DVD recently. The movie is unexpected and powerful...a standout horror film and an absolute must this spooky season. As for the last item in this early fall favourites post, this is a little bit different from everything else. Though most of my seasonal favourites are either fall or Halloween themed, this cute glass (it is one in a set of two) has the sweetest image printed on it. I saw these and instantly fell in love. The cups are cute, functional, but best of all, dishwasher safe. It seems that most of the time, cute cups and glasses need to be hand washed. Not these!
