rediscovered beauty favourite: maybelline color tattoo

Reunited and it feels so good. It has been a very long time since I saw the Color Tattoo cream eyeshadow from Maybelline available to purchase. Though the line may not be discontinued, it hasn't been at any drugstore near me in years and years. In fact, it wasn't the drugstore that allowed me to rediscover this beloved beauty product. While on the cottage trip with my family, we drove into one of the nearby towns and ended up browsing a Winners store. There were these clear zipped bags with an assortment of different drugstore products inside. As I looked through the different options, the Color Tattoo caught my eye. It was an immediate purchase. I was so excited, especially because the colour was my old favourite, Tough As Taupe.

Back when the Color Tattoo line was easily accessible to me (ahh, the good old days), there were a few colours that I would purchase over and over again. My favourite was Tough As Taupe, but I also loved a pink shimmery shade and a warm bronze. (The latter was mentioned in a post from 2013 and it was called Bad to the Bronze.) Sometimes, the Color Tattoo would be worn as a base for other eyeshadows to make sure the colours were bold and lasted all day without creasing. Other times, the Color Tattoo would be worn on its own. This cream shadow is described as crease resistant, fade resistant, and waterproof. According to the brand, "Color Tattoo Cream Eyeshadow pots have super saturated payoff for up to 24 hour tattoo intensity." When these were a regular part of my makeup life, they were nicely pigmented, easy to apply, and lasted without issue.

How did the Color Tattoo in Tough As Taupe perform this time around? Just like before. The colour is beautiful, it is quick and easy to use, and the product lasts all day without creating. Using the Color Tattoo in Tough As Taupe was a real trip down memory lane. It made me nostalgic for all sorts of beauty products that no longer exist - or are hard to find. Several years back, there was a lot creativity and innovation at the drugstore and beyond. Now, it seems like there is less of that. Thank goodness I was able to experience this wonderful drugstore product one more time. Though finding another Color Tattoo product once this runs out seems unlikely, it is thrilling to be able to incorporate this old favourite into my makeup routine once again.

Are there any makeup items that you are nostalgic about? Have you ever used the Color Tattoo cream eyeshadows?
