my favourite makeup essentials.

Eyeshadow, blush, and lipstick get an awful lot of attention here on the creation of beauty is art. I love being able to play with different colours and finishes. Whether the intended makeup look is bright, neutral, or vampy...colour products can bring it all to life. However, there are all sorts of essential items that are worn no matter what colour products happen to be used. I'm talking face products, eyebrow products, and all the rest. Here are some of my tried and tested everyday beauty items.

Though the everyday items shown above are not as exciting as an eyeshadow palette with lots of sparkle and shine...these are the essentials that serve me well day in and day out. First is the St. Ives moisturizer, which is what I used before applying makeup and whenever my skin needs a little extra hydration. I have used many tubes of this over the years. It is a must for me. The moisturizer is not too thick and absorbs fairly quickly. Since this tube is running quite low at this point, another bottle needs to be added to my shopping list. Next is the Cover Girl Clean Matte Pressed Powder. This is a quick and easy to use pressed powder that easily finishes a makeup look. Other face products that I love include the L'Oreal Pro Glow Foundation and the Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser concealer. I have been using the Pro Glow Foundation for many years at this point ad it works well for me. The Maybelline concealer is another item that has been in my makeup collection for years. As you can see from the photo above, a new one will need to be purchased in the near future since mine is running low.

When it comes to eyebrow products, there are several that I love, but my most used is the Eyebrow Designer Brow Pencil from Essence. It is quick and easy to use - making it ideal for everyday use. For eyeliner, the Annabelle Kohl Eyeliner in Black and the NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner are the ones that I use regularly. As for my favourite makeup essential for lashes? My all-time favourite, The Super Sizer appears to have been discontinued, so I have been trying out all sorts of different mascaras in more recent months. Out of all the ones that I have tried so far, it is the Essence Lash Without Limits that has stood out. Though the wand is not my favourite, the product is stellar, as is the price. It has become an everyday essential for me. Finishing off this list of beauty essentials are some of my most used makeup brushes. Most are from Real Techniques, but there is also a really old one from a different brand. (The text has worn off over the years, so I am not certain what brand it was, but that pencil brush is well loved.) Though there are several other makeup brushes that I reach for on a regular basis, these are the ones that are musts for me. Each one is an essential part of my daily makeup application. It is nice to have reliable beauty products on hand.

What are your makeup and beauty essentials? Have you tried any of the ones shown above?
