psyduck (pokemon) inspired makeup look

Pokémon is not something that I have meaningfully engaged with over the years, but my husband plays all sorts of Pokémon games on the Nintendo Switch. Every now and then, there will be a cute character that catches my eye. (Some of the characters are ridiculously adorable.) That is what happened with Psyduck. I saw this cute little duck character waddling around and holding his head. My husband informed me that Psyduck gets headaches and holds onto his head until he releases tension with his strong psychic powers. I was immediately enamored with this character, from design to personality. So, my very thoughtful husband ordered me a little Psyduck plush. He arrived fairly quickly and has been keeping me company ever since. There are a handful of yellow eyeshadows in my makeup collection that I have not used all that frequently - and the arrival of Psyduck seemed like a good reason to put them to use. Here is a makeup look inspired by this adorable Pokémon character.

To create this Psyduck inspired makeup look, the Pro Pigment Palette Volume 3 from the Norvina Collection (pictured above) was the ideal choice. I have two of these colourful makeup palettes in my collection and really want to make sure all of the colours are being used. Since yellow is not an eyeshadow colour that I tend to reach for on a regular basis, it is something that I need to be thoughtful about. Thankfully, there are the shades A1 and E4 (neon yellow and warm yellow) included in this palette, which are ideal for representing this adorable Pokémon character. In addition, some E3 (warm orange) was used and C1 (yellow gold shimmer). Since Psyduck has that butter yellow beak, another palette was pulled in to make sure that colour was incorporated. I used the first shade in the Cheetos Flamin' Hot Crunchy Eyeshadow Palette on the inner portion of the lid.

The makeup look was warm and wearable, but still made use of the Psyduck inspired colours mentioned above. The lightest shade from the Cheetos palette was used on the inner portion of the lid and then E4 was applied to the remainder. A1 was added to the center for a little extra pop of colour and then the shimmer was layered on for some sparkle and shine. A bit of E3, that warm orange, was blended softly through the crease for a bit of depth and contrast. Despite the bright colours used, this makeup look did not feel too extreme or out there. On the cheeks, it was a warm bronzer and then an orange-nude lipstick from NYX to finish it all off. It was fun to get inspired by my new Psyduck plush and use some eyeshadows in my collection that needed some love. Neutral colours will always have a special place in my heart, but sometimes, brighter is better.

What has been inspiring you lately? Are you a fan of the Pokémon characters?

  1. I love how you get inspired by something as cute as Psyduck. The way you use the yellow and orange shadows makes this look so pretty and warm. It is clever how you picked out those specific shades to match. You are beautiful.
