christmas in july part one: bath and body works semi-annual sale

Christmas In July is officially celebrated on July 25th, but thanks to an unexpected holiday release from Bath & Body Works, there are going to be two Christmas In July posts this year on the creation of beauty is art. My husband and I were out running errands a few weeks back and saw that Bath & Body Works was having a semi-annual sale. I love Bath & Body Works products (everything smells so good) but normally stock up in the fall and winter because the seasonal scents are my preference. We decided to walk through just to browse...but then found there were all sorts of Christmas In July themed items available. 

Merry Cookie Body Wash and Body Cream. The Merry Cookie scent has become one of my favourites from the brand over the years. It was a thrill to find the body wash and body cream available (for a discounted price at that) in the middle of summer. The packaging features a gingerbread cookie making the most of the summer season while wearing a pair of bright yellow sunglasses. Another fun detail? The packaging says: Summer Season's Greetings. I love that this year, it is possible for me to fully immerse myself in the Christmas in July vibes with these products. The brand description for Merry Cookie is: fresh baked cookies, sparkling sugar crystals, and rich vanilla. The body washes from Bath & Body Works always work well for me and smell divine, so it was nice to add cookie scented ones to the mix. The Body Cream has a thick consistency and smells fantastic. It leaves the skin feeling moisturized - and smelling freshly baked. These items have made the summer season much better.

Marshmallow Fireside and Hot Cocoa & Cream. My all-time favourite candle from Bath & Body Works is Marshmallow Fireside. I had a very small amount left and had been trying to burn the candle only sparingly so I could make it through to the holiday season. (I previously assumed that it was sold all year, but when I went to purchase another one in the spring, the scent was unavailable.) It was very exciting to find exactly one Marshmallow Fireside candle at the store we were browsing. Since it is my most loved scent, it was happily added to my basket. According to the brand, this scent is toasted marshmallow, smoldering woods, fire roasted vanilla, and crystallized amber. The last item in this little mini haul is a Foaming Soap in the scent Hot Cocoa & Cream. The design on this bottle is ridiculously cute and themed, with a reindeer wearing sunglasses and swim trunks and holding a hot cocoa. This smells like Christmas to me. Just warm and cozy and overloaded with chocolate. The fragrance notes are described as decadent milk chocolate, fresh steamed milk, and mini marshmallows. Thank goodness for Christmas In July!
