nail polish review: sally hansen good. kind. pure. lasting color

There were several weeks where my nails were bare. This is not the norm, because I love to have my nails painted. However, life became more complicated and full, so my nails became less important. Now that things are starting to straighten out a bit, it seemed like a good time to paint my nails a nice springtime blue. The shade Blue Moonstone from the Good. Kind. Pure. line from Sally Hansen seemed like the appropriate choice. The bright colour instantly caught my eye. Find out how it performs...

First thing is first...the product claims. According to Sally Hansen, the Good. Kind. Pure. line of nail polishes are inspired by the colours found in nature. (Which explains this sky blue kind of colour.) The polishes are plant based, vegan, and claim to provide up to seven days of "flawless colour and reflective shine." The polish contains sustainable bamboo and sustainable marine algae for strength and hydration. The brush bristles are also 100% plant based and are supposed to improve application.

There are some pros and cons with this Good. Kind. Pure. Lasting Color nail polish. The pros? I love this colour so much. It is a nice bright blue that really suits this time of year. I don't know that the plant based brush bristles made a difference in the application, but this was easy to use and only required one coat. It looks beautiful, goes on well, and dries fairly quickly. I also like the idea of nail polish that is plant based and not quite as harsh. On the other hand, there is one drawback. This nail polish chipped after three days. I am used to nail polishes lasting longer than that before it needs to be touched up or redone. While the Blue Moonstone nail polish from Sally Hansen looks great and goes on easily...it does not seem to have the longevity that many other nail polishes in my collection have. Definitely some pros and cons, but the colour really is spectacular.

Have you tried any of the nail polishes from the Good. Kind. Pure. Lasting Color collection?

  1. I don't like bare nails either! It is a lovely blue and 3 days is okay for a one coater. I've not tried this line from SH but have loads of their other lines. 2 coats would probably increase longevity though and a good top coat as well. :-D

  5. What a gorgeous colour! I love it that only one coat is required - I don't have the patience for more than one - but what a shame it chipped so easily!xxx
