#FOTD and revisited review: twilight themed makeup items

The weather has been all over the place lately. Cold, warm, and then cold again. There was snow followed by rain and then all sorts of scattered showers. So much for spring flowers and sunshine! Maybe it is the grey skies and rainy days that have been pulling me towards the colours in the Twilight Eyeshadow Palette from ColourPop. This palette - and all of the items from the Twilight collection - were generously gifted to me by a close friend back in the fall. (Take a peek at the full Twilight inspired collection here.) Since then, it all has been put to good use, but I am especially drawn to certain products from the collection these days. Ready for a #FOTD? A revisited review featuring some of the items used? Keep reading for all the details...

Though all of the products from the Twilight x ColourPop line are exciting, the ones that are in heavy rotation these days are the Twilight Eyeshadow Palette, Team Jacob Lux Lip Oil, and Super Shock Highlighter in Meadow. To start this revisited review...it is time to talk about the palette. This eyeshadow palette has all sorts of cool greens and blues to choose from. There are also some cool neutrals and shimmers. The most used colours in this palette for me thus far are: Bella (cool brown), Irresistible (shimmery taupe), Edward (creamy glitter), and Immortal (blue creamy glitter). There is a lot to love about the different finishes and colours. As for the Lux Lip Oil...the Team Jacob version is my favourite and is something that I wear all the time. I love the grey kind of finish on the lips. It is dark and dramatic but still really easy to wear. Another standout from this collection is the Super Shock Highlighter in Meadow. The collection had two different highlights, but the Meadow one is my personal favourite because of the purple finish. It is a nice (and colourful) add on to a lot of different makeup looks.

For the #FOTD above, several Twilight x ColourPop collection items were put to use. The Twilight Eyeshadow Palette was the clear star. The shade Bella was applied all over the lid and then blended out with Say It Out Loud. Edward was added to the center of the lid for lots of sparkle and shine and then Forever Young was added to the outer corner for a little contrast. On the cheeks was a cool-toned bronzer and a bit of Meadow added on as a highlight. It was a subtle pop of colour in an otherwise dark and cool toned makeup look. On the lips was the Team Jacob lip oil. This Twilight x ColourPop collection has been a lot of fun to use over the last several months, especially on the days when there have been lots of grey skies and rain.

What beauty products have you been using lately? Are you a fan of the Twilight series?

  1. Gorgeous palettes and makeup. Never read the books or seen the films! I only know the Paramore song from one the films called Decode, which I like.

  4. I love the dramatic look you created with this palette, Shannon. I'm intrigued about the
Team Jacob lip oil. I've never used a lip oil and particularly about how its texture feels on the lips ... xxx

    1. I haven't tried a lot of lip oils but I really love these ColourPop ones. They are very smooth and not sticky at all.
