Are you ready to dig onto Hard Candy week? Then it is time to start by taking a closer look at the two eyeshadow palettes, pictured above. The first is the Galactic Eyes palette and the second, the Look Pro Eyeshadow Pro Palette. The first is ultra glittery and has been dubbed an Urban Decay dupe while the other has a combination of matte and shimmer shades for a more versatile offering. Want to find out more? Galactic Eyes Eyeshadow Palette

The Galactic Eyes palette is totally different for Hard Candy and yet it is fully on brand. Their products always seem to be pushing the boundaries of what you can find at the drugstore. So, in that way, a galaxy themed eyeshadow palette seems to make a whole lot of sense! As you can see from the picture above, there is a really great range of colours here. Some are neutral and some are super bright and vibrant. Though the packaging itself is pretty cheap (basic plastic - though I do like that there is a brush included), the shadows are pretty decent. These have a really smooth texture but can look a little chunky when initially applied. You really need to build the colour up and use an eyeshadow primer beforehand. But if you do that? Your eyeshadow look will be out of this world. Pun intended! I love that this palette is a little bit different for the drugstore and that the texture of the shadows is really smooth and luxurious.

Look Pro Eyeshadow Pro Palette

Now onto the superior of the two palettes, the Look Pro palette. Right off the bat, you can tell that this palette is a little more upscale than the Galactic Eyes palette. The packaging is sturdier, has a really nice clasp and studded detail on the cover, and it includes two different double ended brushes. Then there are the shadows themselves. This includes a combination of matte and shimmer shades, which is wonderful and really makes it possible to do a number of different looks. The shade selection is fantastic as well. There are neutrals, of course, but there are also a lot of really warm shades. And honestly? I am so obsessed with the warm shades and that matte red. Talk about gorgeous! This is a palette that I reach for often and it seems that the more I use it, the more I fall in love with it.

So, there you have it! Two really great new releases from Hard Candy at the drugstore. If you are debating between the two, I would recommend picking up the Look Pro palette over the Galactic Eyes palette. It has a lot more versatility and the pigmentation level is seriously impressive.
