kylie cosmetics theme week: the classic matte palette

Eyeshadow will always be my weakness. It is so much fun to create different makeup looks....and use all sorts of colours and finishes. Though shimmery eyeshadows often grab my attention, there are some days when matte wins out instead. (One example? When I met Donny Osmond recently and chose The Classic Matte Palette.) I have really been enjoying The Classic Matte Palette from Kylie Cosmetics on those matte focused days. Ready to take a peek inside the palette? Find out what matte eyeshadow shades are included? Keep reading for the latest theme week post here on the creation of beauty is art.

Some Kylie Cosmetics eyeshadow palettes are elaborate and over the top. (Like the 24K Birthday Collection Eyeshadow Palette.) Others? Not so much. The Classic Matte Palette is simple and straightforward. The palette comes in basic white with silver lettering on the front. The eyeshadow names are printed out the back of the palette as well as inside. There is also a mirror inside for application on-the-go. The palette is made from a fairly sturdy plastic and has a magnetic closure.

As for the colours inside The Classic Matte Palette from Kylie Cosmetics, all of the essential everyday shadows are included. There are both cool and warm tones, so even though this is an all matte eyeshadow palette, there is still some variety. The palette has some cream colours, several shades of brown, and a rich black. The palette is well rounded and can create daytime or nighttime looks. As for the quality of the eyeshadows, it is stellar. These are nicely pigmented and so so easy to blend.

All of the eyeshadows in this eyeshadow palette are beautiful and work well, but there are a few that are favourites of mine. I adore Umber (described as a golden olive brown), Rust (soft warm brown), and Chocolate (deep chocolate brown). The shade Base (cream) is an ideal shade to apply all over the lid. That is just what I did to create the makeup look above! I started with the cream shadow all over the lid and then started to work in some of the darker browns. I love that it is possible to create a lot of different makeup looks using this one matte eyeshadow palette. Simple, smokey, or something in between!

What do you think of this makeup look? Do you like using matte eyeshadows?
