makeup essentials (drugstore mini haul)

Every now and then, essential makeup items need to be replaced. I was down to a small piece of the Eyebrow Designer Brow Pencil from Essence (it had gotten so tiny that it was a struggle to sharpen the eyebrow pencil) and realized that a visit to the drugstore was necessary. There were a few other items on my list as well, so the end result was a mini haul of essentials.

Gel and Pen Eyeliner. It is no secret that eyeliner is a love of mine. A makeup look does not feel complete for me without a healthy dose of black eyeliner. The first item is the Epic Ink Liner from NYX in the waterproof formula in black. This is a product that I have been purchasing regularly since 2021. It is my favourite eyeliner without a doubt. The pen style applicator makes application simple - and I love that the liner stays put all day long. The second product is the Gel Pot Liner from Maybelline. This is a product that I used to use all the time. In fact, it was first posted about on the creation of beauty is art. back in 2012! I wanted to try it out again to see if the gel eyeliner formula was something that might be nice as an alternative to liquid liner. So far, I am loving the matte finish of the Gel Pot Liner. It is also nice that the gel liner came with an angled eyeliner brush.

Multi-Use Face Stick and Eyebrow Pencil. When browsing the aisles at the drugstore, there was a certain product that I was looking for, the Instant Age Rewind Concealer from Maybelline. This is one that I have returned to over and over again. It is a nice lightweight concealer that is good for quick everyday makeup looks. Unfortunately, the store that I went to did not have any in stock. On a whim, I decided to try the Lifter Stix from Maybelline, which is described as a Multi-Use Face Stick. This is a nice item to have on hand and quickly addresses redness on the face. The next item shown is the Brow This Way Eyebrow Pencil from Rimmel in Dark Brown. As previously mentioned, I was looking for an Essence eyebrow pencil, but there were none in brown. The store was sold out of a lot of Essence products, which was very frustrating. So...I had to pivot and look for an alternative. The Rimmel eyebrow pencil seemed the most similar to the Eyebrow Designer Brow Pencil. It has been performing well, but I will continue to keep my eyes peeled for another one from Essence, since that is my preferred brow product.

Are there any makeup essentials on your shopping list? What products do you use most often?
