shop my stash: summer inspired makeup look

It is officially the first day of summer. Maybe you have all sorts of exciting summer plans. Or maybe you are simply hoping to get through the season without a sunburn. Wherever you fall, here is hoping the next couple of months will be memorable for all the right reasons. Lately, my focus has been largely on beauty products that I already own, so I went through some of my palettes to find one that had lots of seasonal colours. In the end, it was the 24K Birthday Collection Eyeshadow Palette from Kylie Cosmetics that won out. The eyeshadow palette includes all sorts of warm colours that are ideally suited to the season.

As a reminder, the 24K Birthday Collection Eyeshadow Palette has a combination of matte and shimmer shades. Truth be told, it is the shimmer eyeshadows that I use most often, because I cannot seem to resist a little shimmer and shine. There is something so fun about shimmer eyeshadows. That extra little sparkle seems to make the days better. Since it is usually the shimmer eyeshadows that receive the most love in this palette, it made sense to highlight some of the matte shadows instead.

For this shop my stash makeup look, my focus was on a handful of the matte shadows included in the palette. I love warm sunset colours, especially when the summer months roll around. That is the reason that the eyeshadows used were Seize The Moment (warm yellow), Birthday Baby (warm light orange), Twenty Four (warm dark orange), Leo SZN (warm light brown), and Make A Wish (warm cream). I knew that I wanted to focus on sunset colours, so the warm yellow was applied to the inner portion of the eyelid. That colour was blended into the light orange and then the dark orange was applied on the outer portion of the eyelid. It was all blended out with a bit of that light brown shadow and then the matte cream colour was used underneath the brow bone and in the inner corner. On the lower lash line, there was a bit of Twenty Four and Moments In Time (medium brown). To compliment these warm summer colours, there was a bit of bronzer used on the cheeks from Physicians Formula and a warm brown lipstick from Too Faced. The end result was something colourful, warm, and wearable.

What kind of makeup looks do you like to wear in the summer? Do you have any fun seasonal plans?
