r.e.m. beauty x wicked (so popular ph adaptive lip oil)

The countdown is on. There are 151 days until Wicked: For Good is released in movie theatres. The much buzzed about second half of Wicked is sure to have some stand out moments. Recently, the trailer was released (check that trailer out here if you missed it) and it looks fantastic. I cannot wait to see how it all ends on screen for Elphaba and Glinda. I was treated to a Wicked inspired product from r.e.m. beauty a little while back and with the recent release of the movie trailer, it seemed like an appropriate time for a product review. Keep reading to find out how the So Popular pH Adaptive Lip Oil performs...

The So Popular pH Adaptive Lip Oil is inspired by the character of Glinda. The packaging features an illustration of her wand and the lip oil itself is sparkly to start and turns into a beautiful pink shade. According to the brand, this is "a pH adaptive shimmer lip oil that magically shifts to your bewitching custom pink shade." The packaging is really cute and looks similar to the Diamond Plumper products from Physicians Formula. The only real difference in the packaging is the applicator itself. While the Diamond Plumper had a fairly standard applicator, the So Popular pH Adaptive Lip Oil has an applicator with a curved shape. This makes the application simple and effective. As mentioned before, the lip oil looks sparkly and clear in the tube, but it changes colour after being applied to the lips. This is supposed to create a "bewitching custom pink shade." Take a look....

Since this creates a custom pink shade, it is not possible for me to talk about the colour in general, but I will say that I love the colour that this clear lip oil turned. It was a nice vibrant pink. Definitely more of a Barbie pink (which paired well with the shirt that I wore that day) than something soft and neutral. As for the actual lip oil, this is smooth and really comfortable to wear. It didn't feel sticky or tacky at all - and reminded me more of the ColourPop lip oils from their Twilight collection. This is fabulous.

Have you tried the So Popular pH Adaptive Lip Oil? Do you like r.e.m. beauty products?

  1. I've never tried a lip oil, but with all the buzz about lip oils lately, I'll be trying one out shortly. I love the sound of a colour adapting one! xxx
