r.e.m. beauty yours truly makeup set (mini reviews + FOTD)

It has been nice having r.e.m. beauty products available in Canada. There is a lot that I have enjoyed so far. Recently, the limited edition Yours Truly Makeup Set was released from the brand. It includes three different products: Lustrous Liquid Shadow, Highlighter, and Plumping Lip Gloss. These colours are all really beautiful and wearable. Plus, it was a nice way to test out a few other offerings from r.e.m. beauty. Ready to take a closer look? Here are some mini reviews and a recent #FOTD. 

Lustrous Liquid Shadow in 1954. According to the brand, this is a new liquid eyeshadow shade. I really liked the Metallic Gel Eyeshadow from a previous set and was curious how the liquid shadow compared. This is much easier to apply, because it has a doe foot applicator inside. 1954 has a subtle champagne colour and tons of pink shimmer. The finish is gorgeous. I love wearing this alone for an ultra quick makeup look (ideal for feeling glam while running errands) or pairing it with some other eyeshadows for a bit of contrast. This is a really great liquid shadow and I am certainly open to trying out some other colours from the brand once this is all finished. Until then, I will continue to incorporate 1954 into various makeup looks. 

Plumping Lip Gloss in Pink Razor. Next in the Yours Truly Makeup Set is a plumping lip gloss. I don't tend to love plumping glosses in general, because I cannot stand the strong tingling feeling so many of them have. This gloss from r.e.m. beauty does feel tingly for about five minutes, but the feeling goes away completely after that. (Thank goodness.) The nude pink colour is really pretty, but how often I reach for this will really depend on whether or not I am willing to wait out the five minutes. 

Highlighter in Honeymoon High. The last item in this limited edition makeup set is a highlighter. The highlighter that I previously tried from the brand was really impressive, so I was excited to put another colour to the test. This one is a new shade, Honeymoon High, is a warm shimmery pink. It looks wonderful layered over a warm blush. It has a gorgeous finish and just the right amount of colour payoff. This is a highlight colour that pairs well with all sorts of different looks. 

The makeup look above put all of the products from the Yours Truly Makeup Set to use. On the eyes is the liquid shadow with a bit of brown eyeshadow through the create for contrast. It is clear how sparkly the liquid shadow is! This definitely makes a statement. On the cheeks is the warm highlight and then the gloss is on the lips. Though I am more likely to put the liquid shadow and highlighter to use than the plumping gloss, everything in this r.e.m. beauty set was impressive.
