too faced: christmas in the city (christmas in los angeles palette)

There is nothing like a little Too Faced to make the winter season a little more bearable. The winter weather has really arrived where I live. Some days are ultra snowy and some days are ridiculously cold. As for me? I am staying inside as much as humanly possible. Just because I am in full hibernation mode doesn't mean my makeup collection is sitting unused. Far from it! One of my favourite parts of the day is when I take a little time to experiment with different beauty products. More recently, I have been getting acquainted with the Christmas In The City collection from Too Faced. This particular set included a blush palette, mini mascara, and two eyeshadow palettes. (In case you missed my review of the Christmas In Paris Eyeshadow Palette, check out that review here.) Ready to find out how the Christmas In Los Angeles Eyeshadow Palette performed? Here is everything you need to know about this seasonal release...

There is a lot to love here. The packaging is in the same style as the Christmas In Paris and the Christmas In Rome Face Palette. It has a gorgeous themed illustration on the front and on the inside. This time? It is a scene inspired by Los Angeles. There are iconic buildings and landmarks, there is an old-school camera, palm trees, the Hollywood sign, and of course, Santa Claus and his reindeer flying through the air. Everything about this design is adorable and well themed. Speaking of themed...this palette is also scented. The Christmas In Los Angeles Eyeshadow Palette is Pina Colada scented and it really smells delicious! This particular scent is really soft and subtle, so it is unlikely to irritate someone who is a little more sensitive to fragrance. That being said, if scented products are not your thing, this is likely a collection that you will want to skip.

As for the shades themselves? This Christmas In The City palette is a little bit different than the Christmas In Paris release. While the Paris themed eyeshadow palette had lots of warm browns and pops of pink...the Christmas In Los Angeles palette has a combination of everyday neutrals and bold metallic shimmers. There are five mattes, two satin finishes, three metallics, and two glitter shadows to choose from. That means there is lots and lots of variety.

There are a lot of really beautiful eyeshadow shades to choose from here. What I really love is the fact that there are some easy to wear neutral shades, like Obvious-Sleigh (medium brown), Hollywood & Twine (cool-toned brown), and Christmas in Bels (soft ballet pink). That means if you want an all matte look for work...it will be super simple to create something suitable for everyday. Want to make it a little more glam? There are shimmery gold shades (Here For The Hos and Noel Way) to kick it up a notch and a dark brown with gold shimmer (Santa Monica) for even more glitz. Looking for colour? Reach for the super shimmery Touch Your Elf or incorporate colour with the stunning shimmery blue, Yule By The Pool or the baby pink shimmer, Christmas Fomo. There are a lot of standout shades here, by my personal favourites are Yule By The Pool, Christmas Fomo and Here For the Hos. Clearly, I am all about those shimmery shadows lately. They are just so fun and make every makeup look a little more exciting. These eyeshadows perform well, look beautiful, and offer lots of variety.

The Christmas In Los Angeles Eyeshadow Palette had been a lot of fun to use. I love that there are easy to wear neutrals and really exciting shimmers to choose from. I especially love that shimmery blue shadow. It is fabulous! My goal is to use it to create an ultra icy winter inspired makeup look. It is that time of year, after all. After testing and trying everything from the Christmas In The City collection, I have to say...it lived up to my expectations. I love the variety of products included, the beautiful colours, and the fabulous holiday themed packaging. Even though the holiday season has ended, this collection has continued to infuse that seasonal magic into my life. Thank goodness for that!

Were you able to try the Christmas In The City collection? What did you think of it?
