st patricks day inspired makeup look

Happy St Patrick's Day! It is time to celebrate all things green and gold. Usually that means a night out at an Irish themed bar with lots of authentic grub. This year, however, things are decidedly different. With concerns over COVID-19, parades have been cancelled and most bars closed. Does that mean all celebrations are over? Not at all. This year, you can always throw on a fun green outfit or give yourself colourful nails. Personally, I plan to spend the holiday making memories with my husband (since we officially met on St Paddy's Day all those years ago). Of course, my plan also includes fabulous green makeup. If you're planning a makeup look of your own - or are searching for a little inspiration - here is a St Patrick's Day inspired look created with a recent Hard Candy eyeshadow palette.

St Patrick's Day Inspired Makeup Look

When it comes to St Patrick's Day inspired makeup, my motto? More is more. Have fun with makeup. Forget all about beauty rules or keeping it simple. This is your chance to be playful with colour and make a holiday look that is all your own. Which is exactly what I did when reaching for the Hard Candy Smoke Out eyeshadow palette. (In case you missed it, my full review of the palette can be found here.) This particular palette has a variety of green eyeshadow shades with a few neutrals tossed in as well. Since this look is all about St Patrick's Day, I wanted to use as many of the green eyeshadow shades as possible.

To start, I used the shade Grass through the crease and blended it with a small amount of Hash. Then it was Hazed on the inner corner and the inner third of the lid and Baked on the rest of the eyelid. Along the lower lash line I used the deepest shade in this particular palette, Smokin. Then I used my finger to apply a small amount of Blitzed, that bright green glitter, on top. A little bit of liquid liner and a coat of mascara finished off the eyes. On the cheeks, I used my Gingerbread bronzer from Too Faced and a Hard Candy Velvet Mousse lipstick to finish it all off.

How will you be celebrating St Patrick's Day this year? What do you think of this makeup look?

Isn't it crazy how covid19 has literally shut everything down? I do hope that everyone starts staying home and listen to what the govt is recommending. I hope you get the time off and be able to just stay put. That's crazy that a lot still has to come to work:(

    1. It really is crazy. The whole world as we know it has changed so quickly. So far a lot of people continue to go out and socialize as usual and that is very frustrating. Having to go into work is also frustrating. Sigh. What a mess!
