kardashian/jenner week (KKW beauty eyeshadow palette review)

I had no intention of buying KKW Beauty. In fact, I went into Ulta dead set and determined to buy as much Kylie Cosmetics as I was realistically able to. It wasn't that KKW didn't interest me. It was more that I had given myself a budget and I really wanted to try out products from Kylie Cosmetics. A lot of them. However, one eyeshadow palette from the KKW line took my breath away. The colours were warm and bold. Swatching them in the store only further impressed. There was no doubt about it: the Sooo Fire Eyeshadow Palette was coming home with me. Ready to take a peek? See what was so impressive about this product? As part of Kardashian/Jenner week here on the creation of beauty is art. I am finishing out this particular theme week with a full review of the Sooo Fire palette.

Review: KKW Beauty Sooo Fire Eyeshadow Palette (Packaging)

Packaging can make or break the overall experience. If you are someone who isn't a fan of Kim Kardashian (but likes the colours inside this particular palette)...the packaging here will not be your cup of tea. The outside of the package has a picture of Kim sporting blonde hair, a warm eye look, and a glossy nude lip. Then there is the KKW Beauty logo printed subtly on top. Personally? I think the picture - and the packaging - is gorgeous, glam, and just a little bit edgy. That being said, if you aren't a fan of Kim? This likely isn't something you are going to love having on display in your collection. As for the actual palette packaging, it is strong, sturdy, and has a nice weight to it. There is a mirror inside with a lovely burnt orange and gold colour theme. The only thing I really don't like about this packaging? The eyeshadow names are only printed on the backside of the palette. It is always more convenient when they are printed inside as well.

Shade Selection, Swatches, and Pigmentation

Okay, time for the good stuff. No...the great stuff. These eyeshadow shades are everything. It was the colour selection that grabbed my attention right off the bat. Those warm metallic shades, the shimmers, and the addition of those warm deep shades on the ends as well? Since I tend to gravitate towards warm glam looks in general...this was all that I wanted and so much more. I love that there is a lighter shade for blending (Kilauea), mediums shades (Crater of Hekla and Lava), darker colours to create smokey eye looks (Pele's Curse and Volcanic Haze), a golden glitter (Burnt & Bronzed), that phenomenal burnt red (Fire), and all of those incredible shimmer shades (Fiery Eruption, Molten Magma, and Golden Ember). The variety is wonderful in terms of both finishes and shade selection. It is possible to create a lovely variety of makeup looks for day, night, and any time in between.

Ready to see the swatches? Here are the ten eyeshadow shades from the KKW Beauty Sooo Fire Eyeshadow Palette....

As you can see from the swatches above...these have some serious pigmentation. I love how soft and creamy the textures are (for both the matte shades and shimmer shades) and how easily they apply. These don't need to be built up whatsoever. They apply to the skin with ease and look exactly like they do in the pan. Each eyeshadow shade is bold, has great staying power, and is downright impressive. While my favourite shade here is Fire...the most incredible shade has to be Burnt & Bronzed. With a lot of glitter eyeshadows, there is fallout. Some shadows have more fallout than others, but with glitter, there is normally at least a little. This particular shade has the rich pigmentation and an intense glitter finish but no fall out. It is gorgeous.

Makeup Look and Overall Thoughts

The makeup look I created focused mainly on the Golden Ember shade (in the inner corner), Fire (on the centre of the lid), and Fiery Eruption (on the outer corner). All in all, I was really happy with the way the makeup look turned out. In fact, I've been really happy with all of the makeup looks I've created with this palette! They are warm, wearable, and effortlessly glamorous. The quality of this palette is wonderful, the shade selection is stunning, and it is really easy to work with. Though this was my first time using anything from KKW Beauty....it took my breath away. I would absolutely love to try more from the brand in future.
