#FOTD feat. morphe 39S such a gem artistry eyeshadow palette

Morphe has been getting a lot of love on the creation of beauty is art. lately. Though I don't have a ton of their products in my makeup collection (a handful of palettes) the ones that I do have tend to be products I reach for again and again. Most recently, I reviewed the Morphe collaboration with Jeffree Star. Today? I will be showing you the 39S Such a Gem Artistry Eyeshadow Palette. This larger than life palette includes thirty two eyeshadow shades and seven silk toppers to add an extra pop of sparkle and shine to your makeup look. The holiday season is in full swing....so I decided to create something sparkly and seasonal for this recent #FOTD.

Morphe 39S Such a Gem Artistry Eyeshadow Palette (Mini Review)

There is an awful lot going on in this massive Morphe eyeshadow palette. Look at all gorgeous shades! There are lots of purple tones, rich reds and berry tones, silvers, copper shades, pinks, and lots of taupe shades as well. In terms of the shade selection, this palette stands out. These colours are absolutely beautiful. There are a ton of different looks you can create with them. Something bold and colourful, sultry and smokey, or warm and neutral. The possibilities are pretty much endless. Especially when you factor in all of the finishes (there are mattes, shimmers, glitters, and glitter top coats). That adds an extra level of versatility to the palette.

While many of the shadows in the palette are excellent and perform well, there are a few misses as well. First of all, the shades names aren't printed on the palette itself. There is a plastic overlay sheet with the names on it. The sheet is annoying and always gets in the way. (And it normally winds up in the trash can.) In my opinion, the shade names should be printed inside the palette or at least on the backside of the palette. Another issue with this palette is the inconsistency. Most of the eyeshadow shades are nicely pigmented and perform well. However, there are handful that don't have bold colour payoff or have a dry texture. Particularly the copper glitter. It is dry, chunky, and doesn't apply well. Overall, this palette is lovely and there are plenty of wonderful shadows....but there are a handful of missed opportunities.

#FOTD feat. Morphe 39S Such a Gem Artistry Eyeshadow Palette

For this #FOTD, it was all about simple glam. I used a warm brown through the crease and a bright purple shadow all over the lid. Then I defined the crease with a deep purple eyeshadow and used that same shade along the lower lash line. Next, I made good use of the glitter top coats by patting a bit of the purple glitter directly on the centre of the lid. It was quick, easy, and that added glitter really transformed the look into something special. I can't wait to keep using the Morphe 39S palette - and putting those glitter shades to good use this holiday season.

What do you think of this #FOTD? Are you a fan of Morphe?

  3. I've never had a Morphe palette. Colors look great and it's a shame that some of them are less pigmented or have a dry texture.
