Happy Valentine's Day! Another holiday has arrived. There is something so special about each and every one. I love holiday traditions, the decorations, and the time spent with important people. Valentine's Day in particular is all about love. Whether you are focusing on self love today, love for a partner, friend, or family member...do your best to celebrate in whatever way you choose. As for me? There will be loved ones, chocolate, cards, and of course, the movie Valentine's Day. (It is one of my favourites and is a must-watch each year.) Though ultra glamorous
Valentine's Day looks are a lot of fun for a night out, if you plan on spending the night in or just want something quick and easy, a five minute face is ideal. Who said holiday inspired makeup needs to take a lot of time to achieve? In honour of Valentine's Day, here is a simple and wearable makeup look.
Quick and Easy Valentine's Day Makeup
Even when you are short on time (or just want something a little more casual) it is still possible to create a beautiful makeup look. The key is to choose products you know well. For instance, items you have used many times before. That way, you already know the pigmentation level. You know what colours pair well together. You know what the end result will be. Without much thought or hesitation, you can pull together a fabulous look. With that in mind, several well-loved products were selected to create this Valentine's Day edition of a five minute face. That included the
Violet Voss x Care Bears 12 Color Eyeshadow Palette, the Too Faced Sugar Cookie Palette, NYX Soft Matte Lip Cream, and the Too Faced Yummy Bear Lip Balm.
For this five minute face makeup look, the intention was to focus on shadows that made a statement but were still easy to work with.
Violet Voss immediately came to mind. The eyeshadow palettes that I have tried from the brand have been impressive to say the least. Generally speaking, their shadows have a lot of impact. The mattes are bright and bold and the shimmers are creamy and easy to work with. So, I applied the shimmery pink shade, Best Friend Bear all over the lid and added a bit of the matte pink, Love-A-Lot Bear on the outer corner. Some True Heart Bear (pink pearl shimmer) on the inner corner. Some liner and mascara finished off the eyes. Then the blush from the Too Faced Sugar Cookie Palette was added to the cheeks. On the lips? It was a dusty rose NYX colour and then the Too Faced Lip Injection Lip Balm in Yummy Gummy over top. Since that particular lip product stings when worn alone (thanks to the whole lip injection aspect)...it is something that I have started to layer over top instead. The pretty pink shimmer tied this quick and easy makeup look together.
How will you celebrate Valentine's Day? Will you create your own five minute face or will your holiday makeup be ultra glam?
Happy Valentine's Day, Shannon. I love the look you created and even more so knowing you only spent five minutes on it. It sounds a bit like my travel make-up bag, when I pick my tried and tested favourites to take with me! xxx
ReplyDeleteI hope you had a wonderful Valentine's Day! Thank you so much! It's always nice to have those quick and easy looks ready.
DeleteHi Shannon! Long time no blogging for me, but happy to see you're still blogging. The makeup look you created is so pretty for VDAY! Ooh do you feel the sting from the lip injection aspect is worth it? I mean do you feel it worked? I do love the shimmer!

Tania

I'm so glad you're back blogging! How wonderful! And thank you so much. I don't necessarily feel like the lip injection part made a notable difference for me, but the gloss itself is pretty.
DeleteLook beautiful. You are very creative person.
