When it comes to music...women are dominating. Especially in the pop genre. There have been recent releases from Katy Perry, Britney Spears, and even Lady Gaga. The latter is back in an undeniable way. Her first week sales were massive and the second single from the album (a duet with another woman of pop, Ariana Grande) debuted at number one. There is no denying it. This era of Lady Gaga is a smashing success. Not only this the music amazing but so is the style and overall concept. I love the 90s, space alien, drag queen inspired, over the top outfits, accessories, makeup, and hair. Everything makes a statement. Which totally sums up Lady Gaga's aesthetic. And is one of the many reasons that she is such an enduring star. Her image is always completely out there. You never quite know what you're going to get. One red carpet appearance might have her sporting something dramatic and alien-esque and the next might show her in a floppy hat and oversized blazer. She is always keeping fans on their toes. So, today this post is dedicated to all things Chromatica.
As you can see from the pictures above, Chromatica is bold. It stands out. It is unapologetically in your face. It blends softness with hard edges easily and effortlessly. Long pink hair is paired with stiff fabrics and statement shoulder pieces. Metal accents and intense graphic and colourful eyeliner looks. I absolutely love the contrast. These styles have the ability to look space inspired and a little out of this world...but at the same point, have lots of shades of pink and red to add those dramatic earthly accents. The overall vibe is one of inner wisdom, strength and endurance. Needless to say, Chromatica is totally inspiring my approach to style lately. I love all of the metallics and holographic elements. I love the different shades of pinks, reds, and purples. I love the combination of soft and hard. Everything about this era is jaw-droppingly fashion forward.
Lady Gaga Inspired Style for Real Life
Though the out of this world aspect of Chromatica is something truly inspiring...there are many ways to transform that alien-esque vibe into everyday wear. Just take a peek at the mood board above. I created it to showcase some wearable ways to get your Chromatica on. These are only examples, so the sky is the limit. You can take this style as far as you want to take it. If you feel like being bolder? Go bolder. If you want something a little less intense? Incorporate one or two of the suggestions shown above. Maybe streaks of pink in your hair rather than full-blown colour. Or add on some pink metallic accessories to an existing outfit. Makeup is also a wonderful way to let Lady Gaga inspire your next night out. Get creative with graphic eyeliner - and create bold head-turning shapes. There are so many ways to have fun and express yourself. Use Chromatica as a jumping off point and see where your creativity (and love of fashion) takes you. The possibilities are endless.
Are you a fan of Lady Gaga? How will you incorporate Chromatica into your style?
