wet n wild 32-pan eyeshadow palette (review, swatches, and video)

Wet n Wild has been part of my makeup routine since the early days. For a long time, my favourite eyeshadow trio (because palettes simply were not a thing in my collection back then) was their Walking on Eggshells trio. I'd purchased and re-purchased it over and over again. It was an absolute must-have. Since then, there have been an awful lot of wonderful products from the brand. And a handful of disappointing ones. Most recently, disappointing ones included workout inspired items that missed the mark. Despite some inconsistencies...their eyeshadows have always managed to impress. So, when I came across a 32-pan eyeshadow palette a while back, it was an easy decision. It cost less than $20 CDN and included dozens of exciting shades. Ready to take a look inside? Find out how the palette performs? Keep reading for a full review, swatches, and a video featuring this drugstore palette.

Colour selection? Check. Variety of finishes? Check. One look at the Wet n Wild 32-Pan Eyeshadow Palette from their ColorIcon line, and it is pretty clear that this is an impressive drugstore release. For starters, normally palettes at the drugstore are much smaller in size (like the ones commonly seen from Maybelline or Cover Girl, for instance). That alone allows this larger sized palette to stand out from other affordable offerings. In addition to the size and sheer number of shadows, there is also the shade selection to consider. As you can see from the photo above, there is a lot happening here. The entire bottom row is made up of essential neutrals. Plus, there are are gorgeous pops of colour, lots of easy to wear warm shades, and darker smokey shades scattered throughout the rest of the palette.

Though the shades certainly look good in the pan....performance is everything. That is why I wanted to include swatches of each and every eyeshadow in this set. They have been swatched row by row to showcase their pigmentation level and finish:

So many shadows! And for such an affordable price point. That is incredible all on its own but when you consider the variety of finishes as well? This is drugstore done right. This palette has quite a few satin matte shades, shimmers, and glitters to choose from. That means you can opt for something simple, neutral and matte....or colourful, sparkly, and shimmery. It is because of the variety of shadow shades and finishes that I think this is an extremely beginner friendly palette.

For someone who doesn't have much or anything in their collection, this is a wonderful option. Especially because there is an entire row of must-have neutral shades. Plus, there is more than enough variety to experiment with. When you factor in the cheaper price tag as well, this is a beginners dream palette! That doesn't mean it is for beginners and only beginners, however. This is something that I have been getting plenty of use out of lately. I love that there are really accessible shades as well as some gorgeous and surprising ones as well. The only issue I have with this palette is the fact that there are a few inconsistencies with the formulas. Most of the shadows perform really well but there are a handful that have a drier consistency. All in all though, this is a solid drugstore release.

Though not every Wet n Wild release is a winner, they have a pretty decent track record. Particularly when it comes to eyeshadows. Their 32-Pan Eyeshadow Palette is well worth investing in, whether you are an experienced makeup lover or are just getting started. It is affordable and offers lots of variety.

  6. Thanks for the vid and the review, Shannon:) I'm a big Wet N Wild fan too! It was one of the first makeup brands I bought as well, along with Cover Girl:D Great to know that this palette rocks. Obviously, not all the shades can be a winner, but for the amount of shades and the price you have to pay, this palette is definitely worth a look! You look fab in the vid btw:)
