Is your stomach rumbling? The fall season seems that have that effect on people. Coffee shops are full of pumpkin spice everything and tasty baked goods line cafe windows. Yes, this time of year is certainly tied to its delicious desserts. Maybe more so than changing leaves and rainy days. So, be honest. Have you ever wanted to make something scrumptious and seasonal? Something so tasty that your mouth will water? It's easier than you think. Baking something fabulous doesn’t have to be time consuming or challenging. Just choose your recipes wisely. These easy fall desserts will inspire and satisfy your sweet tooth.
Perfect Pumpkin Mousse
By far the most popular flavour (and smell) for fall is pumpkin. From
beverages to pumpkin pies and everything in between…it is a seasonal staple.
How can you enjoy that unforgettable pumpkin taste without all of the fuss? By
making this Perfect Pumpkin Mousse.
Start with a large bowl. Whisk egg yolks and ¾ of a cup of
cream. Add the mixture to a saucepan. Heat at medium temperature and stir until
the ingredients thicken. Remove from heat and let it cool down completely. Now
for the fun stuff! Add canned pumpkin, a dash of vanilla, and some cinnamon to
your mixture. Stir in a tablespoon of powdered gelatin and fold in half a cup
of cream. Pour it all into a dish and put in directly into the refrigerator.
Let your Perfect Pumpkin Mousse cool down overnight. By morning it will be
ready to eat and enjoy.
DIY Apple Pie
Love apple pie but hate all of the fuss that goes into
preparation? You are not alone. Thankfully there are plenty of great alternatives.
Like this no bake apple pie (aka DIY Apple Pie.) It can be prepared quickly
and easily in your microwave! Here is how….
Grab a few shortbread cookies from your pantry. Smash them
into cookie crumbs. A tip? Put the cookies into plastic wrap or a bag before creating your cookie crumbs. Then take a mug from your cabinet and add a tablespoon of butter. Melt in the
microwave. Add the cookie crumbs to the mug and stir. Next up? Cut up apples
into small chunks. Put them in a separate bowl. Then coat with cinnamon,
powdered sugar, and flour. Microwave this bowl for a minute or two. Then dump
your “filling” bowl into the “crust” mug. Finish with a dash of whipped cream.
Ta da! Your very own apple pie.
Fabulous (and Fast) Fudge
I don’t know about you…. but I am a serious chocolate lover. (Even makeup inspired by chocolate is tempting to me.) Which is why this next recipe is one of my personal favourites. What is it?
Super easy to make fudge. It is the perfect sweet treat for the fall season.
Get ready to impress your friends and family with your unforgettable baking
skills.
Put a cup and a half of semisweet chocolate chips into a
microwavable bowl. Add a can of condensed milk. Stir together and melt in the
microwave. (This should take from three to five minutes.) Remove and stir until
all of the chocolate has been melted. Then add a handful of chopped nuts if desired and a
teaspoon of vanilla extract. Put your Fabulous Fudge into a pan, cover, and
refrigerate. Once it has cooled you can cut it into squares and enjoy with a
cold glass of milk.
This is a pretty great time of year. Just think of all the
tasty treats there are to try! If you have a sweet tooth (or know someone who
does) then be sure to give these easy fall dessert recipes a try. They are guaranteed to wow.
