There are three different versions of the new KATSEYE album, Wild, in my possession. An autographed vinyl version and a member version of the album were pre-ordered around four months back. I was so excited about the release of new music that I purchased the items without fully knowing what I would be receiving. The cover art had not been released and details were scarce. I assumed the member version of the album would come with a photobook, similar to the Soft is Strong and Beautiful Chaos releases. When my pre-ordered items arrived, it was all very exciting, but I was disappointed that the member version of the album was so small. That is how the Wild World version was also added to my music collection. It came with a photobook and all sorts of other extras. Do I have too many versions of the new EP? Probably. But I have loved listening to the album and looking through all of the Wild inspired items. On that note, here is a closer look at my recent KATSEYE purchases.
Wild: Megan Version. The second version of Wild is the member version that was pre-ordered. There was a different version released for each member of KATSEYE and I chose to add the Megan version to my shopping cart. Though all of the members of KATSEYE are incredibly talented, my favourite is Megan. She has such a cool tone to her voice and is an amazing dancer. I also love how open she has been about her mental health. Megan is so talented and seems like a really solid role model for young women. The Megan version of Wild came with a CD copy of the album, a smaller photobook with lots of photographs and an interview with Megan, a paper mask, stickers, photocards, and a mini poster. It's a really nice set and all of the extras are a lot of fun. It was simply much smaller than anticipated. I found myself wanting a more traditional version of the album as well, which is how the Wild World version came to be added to my collection. One fun detail about the Megan version? The CD itself has a different design - one that is specific to Megan. I like that there was a lot of thought put into the album release.

Right? The photoshoots are really interesting!
DeleteThe lavender vinyl record looks great, I don't know the band but I think it was a good purchase because it looks like a collector's item with everything it comes with.
ReplyDeleteIt is such a great record! I love all of the extras that were included :D
DeleteBoa noite minha querida amiga Shannon. Tenho várias músicas, nesse celular que estou digitando. Uma excelente noite de domingo, para você e todos os seus familiares e um bom início de semana.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they are good ones! Thank you so much :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful KATSEYE collection! 💜 I absolutely love the lavender vinyl and all the little extras included with the different versions.
ReplyDeleteThank you! I love all of the extra items as well. It is all so fun!
DeleteI completely understand why this became an “add to cart” moment, especially when you were buying before you even knew exactly what the album would look like. The lavender vinyl is such a lovely detail, and getting Megan and Lara photocards in your copy must have made the unboxing even more exciting. I also think there is something special about owning a physical record from an artist you genuinely love, particularly when music has become so digital. Three versions might be a lot, but when each one has different artwork, inclusions and little surprises, I can see how they ended up feeling different rather than simply repetitive. The Wild World version with the photobook and extras sounds like the one I would have been most curious to look through too.
ReplyDeleteYou are so right that there is something special about owning something from an artists that matters! Digital products can be convenient, but not necessarily as memorable.
DeleteGreat record purchases!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much!
DeleteOh this is really nice =) I love vinyls, they made me feel like in my childhood again - 30 years ago :D <3
ReplyDeleteSame! They are wonderful and nostalgic!
DeleteThat lavender vinyl is gorgeous! I can definitely understand why you ended up getting multiple versions, especially when each one has such different extras and artwork. The Megan version sounds especially fun with the little photobook and personalized CD. It must be so satisfying to have the whole collection together!
ReplyDeleteIt is! I love that there was so much thought put into the different versions!
