inspired by all things amber.

There is something special about amber. The colour is a yellowish orange and is often associated with warmth. It is also thought to be positive and protective. Lately, amber has been on my mind. It all started with one of the holiday body mists from Aeropostale (check out that post here) that I have been wearing often. Cashmere Mittens has soft cashmere, white rose petals, and amber. Soon after, it became clear to me that many of my favourite scents also include amber. Somehow, that led me to adding some amber inspired items to my home, including an amber scent and some amber coloured accessories. 

First is a bottle of amber essential oil. Since I seem to like so many fragrance sprays, perfumes, and candle scents with amber in them, this seemed like an ideal choice. A few years back, I bought a diffuser and a small handful of essential oils. Most of the essential oils that I have are Christmas themed (because my obsession with the holiday season knows no bounds) so it was nice to add in something a little bit different. I have used this on its own and I love how warm and earthy the amber essential oil is. It might be interesting to combine it with another essential oil and see how the two blend. For now, it is just nice to enjoy this wonderful scent. There are also a handful of amber coloured accessories that I added to my collection. The three pairs of earrings shown above were described as amber, though the drop earrings look a little more like tiger's eye to me. Out of the three, my favourite pair is the set at the very top. The colour is gorgeous and the design sort of 80s inspired. I just love the unusual shape. There is also a ring that allows me to highlight my amber obsession. The chunky gold ring has a gorgeous amber stone in the center. And to finish it all off is a bracelet with amber coloured beads. I especially love the variations in colour. 

These amber coloured scents and accessories have been adding some warmth, colour, and joy into my life lately.
