seasonal favourites for 2024.

Tis the season for all sorts of favourites. It is hard to believe the second week of December is here already. There is so much to do before all of the festivities take place! I suppose that is the reason I love the time before Christmas the most. From early November to mid-December, it is possible to enjoy fun holiday themed items without the time crunch that the latter half of December is well known for. On that note, here are the items that have been making the holiday season bright so far.

Holiday Inspired Scents. It turns out that the Aeropostale body mist sets are fantastic. Last year, the Winter Wonders set made it onto my list of seasonal favourites with scents like Golden Gingerbread, Pink Peppermint, Merry Berries, and Sugar Plum. I've been using them throughout the year on myself and as room sprays. When I saw another set, the Frozen Fantasies collection, it was an instant purchase. This set includes Cashmere Mittens (soft cashmere, white rose petals, and amber), Coconut Snowfall (coconut creme, mint leaves, and sugar crystals), Frosted Cookie (sugar cookie crumble, nutmeg, and warm vanilla), and Winter Blossom (frosted jasmine, snowy primrose, and white woods). All of the scents are fabulous, but the one that I have been reaching for over and over again is Cashmere Mittens. It smells incredible and is the perfect addition to my holiday season.

Dolly Parton Holiday Items. As mentioned in my life lately post, there were some Dolly Parton inspired holiday items that came home with me after a visit to Walmart in the US. I was so thrilled to find these special items and brought home a wooden block photo, cups, napkins, plates, and a reusable platter. I have loved Dolly Parton for a long time, so it was really exciting to be able to infuse my holiday season with these beautiful and fun holiday items. Fingers cross it will be a Holly Dolly Christmas this year.

Hallmark and Lifetime DVDs. Christmas movie obsessed? Absolutely. I have spoken many times about my love of holiday movies and the fact that I watch them throughout the year. I was lucky enough to find some new additions to my collection. There are two Lifetime movie sets (with 12 movies each) and some Hallmark movies (one with six movies and one standalone). I had already seen a handful of these before purchasing and was excited to rewatch the familiar ones and discover some new-to-me ones. I've been treating myself to a holiday movie each night before bed, so these have been a wonderful way to embrace the magic of the season so far. One standout? A Holiday Spectacular, a Rockettes themed movie set in the 1950s.

Sweet and Special Seasonal Treats. It just wouldn't be the holiday season without some Little Debbie snack cakes. Unfortunately, these tasty treats are no longer available in Canada, but I was able to buy some while in the US. I bought some Swiss Rolls (not seasonal but delicious anyway) and the iconic Christmas Tree Cakes. Sadly, there weren't any chocolate Christmas Tree Cakes, but I was able to find a few boxes of the vanilla ones (which are the best ones anyway). I have also been enjoying some delicious iced gingerbread cookies. Gingerbread cookies and Little Debbie make for a happy holiday.

Even More Seasonal Favourites. And to finish off this list of seasonal favourites for the year, here is an assortment of items. The first is a glitter lamp shaped like a Christmas tree. Last year, I was gifted a set of two for Christmas and it was exciting to finally display them this year. I love watching the glitter swirl around and the fact that the lights can be white or multi-coloured. It is such a nice decor item! I have also been enjoying the movie, Santa and Pete, and the Flintstones Christmas Collection DVD. Last but not least is the Revolution x The Grinch Eyeshadow Palette. Stay tuned for a Grinch inspired makeup look and review.

Do you have any favourites so far this year? Are you excited about the holiday season?

  1. I can see that you are totally into the Christmas atmosphere!^^
What makes me feel tha festive atmosphere the most are decorations, songs and fragrances: I love vanilla scent the most all year around, but in this time of the year is that mix with orange and cinnamon and the fireplace smell that makes me immediately think of Christmas!
And of course, christmas treats are the best!!!

  8. Boa tarde de terça-feira, com muita paz e saúde. Aqui no Brasil, não temos, pelo menos no Rio de Janeiro, o costume de comer essas guloseimas, que parecem deliciosas.
