Brr! The temperatures are dropping a little more with each day that passes. It is definitely starting to feel like the holiday season now that it is chilly and damp outside. Though there hasn't been as much snow this year compared to past years (it is early in the month though, so anything is possible) it still feels cold and wintery. The
last post here on
the creation of beauty is art. featured a makeup look that was warm and inspired by the idea of curling up by the fireplace. Now? It is all about ice and frost. Ready for a creation that is seasonally inspired? This recent #FOTD is all about a cool winter makeup look.
When choosing the products for this cool winter makeup look, my focus was mostly on standouts from my collection. For instance, the
Peanuts x Wet n Wild Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown Eyeshadow Palette. I have been obsessing over this eyeshadow palette since it came home with me and it has been in heavy rotation throughout the year. (I am Christmas obsessed and holiday themed palettes thrill me, even in the middle of summer.) Another eyeshadow palette that was a must? The Coca Cola x Morphe Thirst For Life Artistry Palette. There was one shadow that immediately came to mind. Cool Story is an ultra sparkly ice blue. It was a no brainer for this cool winter makeup look. The #FOTD used a little from both palettes.
On the cheeks, it was a little more difficult to find those cooler wintery colors. Thankfully, there were a couple of beloved items that fit the bill. For blush, there was the amazing
Blush Crush Match Three blush palette from Rude Cosmetics. The shade Divine was applied and a bit of Sugar Crush was added to the apples of the cheeks. For highlight, it was the KVD Alchemist Holographic Palette. There is this amazing blue highlight in there that was perfect for this wintery wonderland look. Other products used included my regular base products: Maybelline Dream Matte Mouse Foundation, Essence Eyebrow Designer Brow Pencil, NYX Epic Ink Eyeliner, and The Super Sizer Mascara from Cover Girl. The end result was shimmery and wintery.
To create the #FOTD shown above, the matte navy blue shadow from the Peanuts eyeshadow palette was applied all over the lid. Then a bit of the shimmery navy was added to the outer corner. After that, the Coca Cola eyeshadow palette came to wow. That icy blue shadow was applied on most of the lid to create that dazzling shimmer. A bit of the silvery white was applied to the inner corner and underneath the brow. Eyeliner and mascara finished off the eyes and the cheek products were applied liberally. I wanted to keep things fairly neutral on the lips, so I went with my old faithful, Turkish Delight by NARS. That cool toned pink gloss has been a favourite of mine for many years. It works with so many different makeup looks! So, there you have it. This cool winter makeup look was frosty, fun, and oh so shimmery. It was the perfect look to welcome the cold.
What do you think of this cool winter makeup look? Are you looking forward to the winter season?
Temperatures are dropping here on the U.S. NorthEast coast as well.

ReplyDeleteIt is such a special time of year!
DeleteIch frage mich immer, was du mit all den schönen Paletten am Ende machst. Die kannst du doch niemals aufbrauchen. LG Romy
ReplyDeleteI certainly don't use up too many of them (though I have come pretty close with several) but it's nice to have different finishes and colours to choose from!
DeleteOh very good palette darling

DeleteWow, how amazing is that Cool Story eye shadow colour! Fabulous #FOTD!
ReplyDeleteI was wondering, how many eye shadow palettes have you got? It must be quite the collection! xxx
Oh goodness. I'm not sure, to be honest! I've never thought to count. I definitely need to slow down and focus on what I have...but every now and then something catches my eye or someone gifts me something new.
DeleteWe have a lot of snow in Poland, much more than in previous years :) Although I don't like the cold, I love looking at the snowy landscape :) You look beautiful! Your artistic makeup is amazing. You must have a lot of cosmetics at home :D
ReplyDeleteRegards!
Oh, that is exciting! I know what you mean. I am not necessarily a fan of the cold weather, but the snow always looks so beautiful! Thank you so much for your kind comment <3
