love it or leave it? winnie harlow

There are plenty of supermodels out there...but none like Winnie Harlow. I remember watching her on the twenty-first cycle of America's Next Top Model and being amazed by her beauty, talent, and drive. (Though she wasn't exactly beloved on her season, if I recall correctly.) Since her time on the show, I have done my best to keep up with her via social media. That means double tapping her Instagram photos and checking out modelling campaigns. During London Fashion Week, Winnie stepped out in a bold outfit that definitely turned some heads. Was it good? Bad? Somewhere in between? It is time to find out with another installment of love it or leave it.

What I Love: There are so many separate elements of this outfit that make me happy. That olive green faux-fur coat, for example, is a phenomenal piece. And I love the overall idea of this look...with the military green and the bold collar, the belt, and the shoes. I also really enjoy the fact that Winnie took a major risk with this ensemble. Major bonus points for that!

What I Loathe: While I do appreciate a good risk-taking outfit, there is just so much going on here. The super short vest/top/dress with the fur coat over top along with the embellishments on the vest itself and the belt....it's just a lot. Then you add in the shoes? Yikes. The shoes are gorgeous on their own but in my opinion, they do not go with this outfit at all. Definitely a missed opportunity there. While I really want to like this look (because everything on its own is so fabulous), it just doesn't come together in a cohesive manner.

It was almost a really awesome outfit. Separately, each piece is unique and has tons of personality. When you throw it all together, it looks mismatched at best. Definitely a letdown from the wonderful and normally super stylish Winnie Harlow.

On another note, something that I happen to love an awful lot is the Jaclyn Hill eyeshadow palette by Morphe. I recently sat down and filmed a grunge-glam makeup look using some of the warmer shades in the palette. Take a look at my YouTube tutorial and let me know what you think of the finished product!

What do you think of this look? Love it or leave it?
