nail art is a vacation for plain nails.


So, I got my nails done again! Only this time it didn't turn out quite as expected. As I mentioned in my last nail post, my work has only just started allowing us to have our nails done. We are allowed neutral and pastel colours only. (So depressing, but I'll take what I can get!)

Well, when I went to get my shellac polish put on, I chose a medium brown shade. Nice and neutral. Except that the colour turned out to be deep red. Ack! Let me just say that I love the colour. It's beautiful and totally bold. Unfortunately, bold is a no-no at my work. This is why I have a love-hate relationship with my nails right now. I love them...but I'm tired of worrying about getting in trouble over them. Sigh.

Next time I get my nails done, I'm thinking about a nice ballet pink. I can't go much more neutral than that, right? If you have any suggestions for great neutral nail polish colours, I'd love to hear them!

    I love the color! Shellac is really expensive though! I would try putting nail stickers in a neutral color over top or painting over them in a neutral shade for work, and then removing it when you get home. Nail polish remover doesn't remove shellac!

    Wow, your job just started to allow nail polish? That's so strict! The color looks very classic and pretty. Maybe the policy is just written that way to discourage bright trendy colors like mint and turquoise? Good luck! I hope the polish police don't get you ;-)

    I think this color is so chic, love it. Anyway it's not neutral, as you know, LOL...a ballet pink will do fine ! Your nails will be beautiful anyway :)

    A pale blue is really pretty and nuetral. Or the seafoan grean blue, my fave. Tell your nails I'm so.sorry. :D That sucks you couldn't keep the bold red :D
