The first week of the new year is over already. It is hard to believe, but time seems to move faster these days. Though there is no denying the arrival of January, there is a part of me that is still lingering behind in December. The holiday season had some highs and lows...and I am trying to hold onto the highs as much as possible. That is the reason for this holiday highlights posts. It seemed appropriate to share a few seasonal photos, makeup looks, and talk about the more memorable moments.
There were some disappointments this holiday season, some intense moments, and some anxieties, but there were also some wonderful moments mixed in there. It was fun to fill stockings, see wrapped items underneath the Christmas tree, enjoy delicious holiday cookies, look at the lights on the Christmas tree, be surrounded by my favourite seasonal decorations, and even create a few different holiday nail looks. (My nails are currently green and white with nail stickers from the Essence advent calendar that was featured on the creation of beauty is art. earlier this week.) It is nice to look back on those highlights. When it came to holiday makeup this year, there was a particular look that suited me well. Even when there wasn't a lot of time in my schedule, this makeup look could be created quickly. Essentially, it involved a light shimmery eyeshadow (sometimes, it was the Stardust Glitter Liner and Shadow from Lise Watier used, and other times, it was an eyeshadow from a holiday themed palette) and a variation of brown eyeshadows. The light shimmer was applied to the inner portion of the lid and then one or more brown eyeshadows were used on the outer portion of the lid for a bit of warmth and contrast. I was able to mix it up with blush shades and lip products to make this quick and easy look a little bit different depending on my mood.
